Ubisoft has confirmed to Eurogamer that the PC version of Driver: San Francisco has been delayed.

It launches on Friday, 30th September – nearly a month after the PlayStation 3, Wii and Xbox 360 versions.

Ubisoft sparked complaints last month when it revealed that the Driver will not be playable offline.

Following that revelation, a company spokesperson said Ubisoft's always online strategy had resulted in "a clear reduction in piracy of our titles which required a persistent online connection, and from that point of view the requirement is a success".

EDIT : Ubisoft confirms that the PC version is delayed to September 29, 2011 (and September 30 for the United Kingdom).
The responsible for the delay are Ubisoft Kiev

Now my review, i've played the Xbox demo yesterday in a friend's house.

The driving is very enjoyable and you feel that Driver style. It's a bit hard at first, you've to get used to it (i've crashed a lot using hand brake).

The damage is pretty decent but not as good as in Driv3r, in fact I understand that because the cars are licensed. I like that the cars have detachable panels like in Driv3r, i've seen bumpers and a bonet falling off the car. Still want to see if we can lose a wheel of a car (like in Driv3r).

Sadly i've never managed to flip a car.

The colour palette of the game reminds me a lot NFS Most Wanted, and also the chases in the Escapist. It's very sunny and sometimes is very hard to see things in front of you.

It's annoying that A button is for Shift, A would be better for hand brake.

Looks that Driver lost part of his dark style for a wider audience and has more sense of humor.

The police is very agressive and i like it.

Shift is a bit confusing at first but is very funny in chases. The only thing that i didn't like is that your car slow down when you pick another one (this is probably because Tanner's soul leaves the car that you were in that's why it slows down).

The graphics are good but it would be great if we could change the palette (that would give more photorealistic look to the game)

Yeah, some time ago I tried the demo in my friends house. Also it's annoying when the car fixes it's position when it's in the air (for example: jumping in a truck ramp). Hope that the release version of game will feel different. Also i don't like that the mirrors of the car aren't functional (yeah, they reflect but not in the good way, you can't see what is behind clearly because the mirrors are pointing to a different angle). It would be great to see functional mirrors, with that stuff there's no need to press a button to see what is behind. Also it feels kinda NFS because the cars have very quick acceleration, i don't like it.They say that they are going back to the origins of the game and i would like to see turning lights.

They did it with the rearview mirror on purpose Max, it would kill the framerate otherwise as they have stated. i do hope that they got rid of the fixing position thing. And i second your last sentence, the only driver game that had it was the first one.

Import it, if you have the money, game won't run but you have the goodies then (unless you think it's way to expensive)

I mostly want it for the gameplay bonuses. The Challenger is cool but I'm not paying that much money just to get the car and an unplayable game.

It depends which version you'll get: if you get the PC version probably there will not be problems running it in US, but if you buy a console version which isn't NTSC (your region) probably the game won't run in your console.

In the PS3, most of the games are region free, meaning you can play a Japanese game on a American console and vice versa with no problem. Not sure about X360 though.
