Demo/Game differences on PSX

I played a Driver PSX demo about two hundred times before I got the game, and I would like to bring out a couple of differences I've spotted in the two versions.

In the demo, when pausing, you could actually move the camera around your car in a Matrix-like way (and like the PS3 game MotorStorm). This was especially cool the moments after colliding, with all the frozen smoke and debris, but wasn't possible in the final version of the game.

Another variation is that some of the songs, like the "San Fransico Day" music, has reverb in the final game. The "Miami Night Cop" music even has a different bass line in the demo, which in my opinion sounds much better and fuller than in the full game. Why change things to the worse?

Maybe because the PSX version just couldn't handle all of that at the time so they had to cut some stuff.

BTW: You can move the camera like that also in the Midnight Club series.

This is possible in the final game too and in Driver 2 too.

I don't know why this song was changed :?

There are a lot of other differences in the Demo and the final game, you know. What you said is like 0,001%.

Yeah, the song is actually entirely different. It's called the "title variation". such is similar to the final version.

You can get the song here: http://rapidshare.com/files/73491771/06 ... _.mp3.html

That's strange. This isn't possible in my copies of those games. They're European, maybe there were some differences in the European copies?

Hmm… You're from Europe ? I don't think that they are any changes in the European version, not even in the PAL versions. My Driver 1 is a special Best of edition, maybe they reworked on it and changed it a bit, but I bought it when it came out … hmm… strange.
