Alpha/ Beta Yellow&Black Car Theory

I cant believe that they cut this car....
but did they really?
But lets think hard for a minute...
look at the car closely:
In the front of the car (Which you cant see) has a different front then the final, perhaps they just changed this for a just reason. Look at the back of the car... Wait... It's identical to the one on the black car that appears in the final version of Driver1 (on PSX of course) werid.... Now look at the body, In the image that madness provided, you can see that the side and rear end of this car are almost exactly the same as the side and back of the black car for miami in the final release of this game. So what do you think? was this car really "cut"? or "modified"?
Unfortunatley for some odd reason i couldnt use madness' photo so I went and found the exact same one somewhere else, so Investigate for a little while and tell em what you think.

No one besides the developers of the game know why that car was cut. It was initially the trademark of the game, but for some unknown reason it was left out at the last minute. The car has a different model shape to the final version and therefor is more than just a texture change.

Perhaps legal issues made them cut it? If you look at the hood, it has black racing stripes and looks very much alike some real car (wasn't yellow with black stripes a trademark for Chevy Camaro?).
It could also be that they found this car too cartoonish for the game's mood.
Another strange this is, why is the car Tanner steals in the first cut scene a Mustang-lookalike, when no Mustangs appears in the game?

Hey man, have you seen the hidden car in the Chicago arena in D2? It's exactly the same car.

What the hell are you all talking about ?
1. Which black car ? That's dark violet.
2. Tanner doesn't steal any car in the first mission. His car is a Chevrolet Camaro, and there's one Mustang GT500 in the game, in the mission Superfly Drive.
3. Yeh, it's the same car as in Driver 2, i know that for … hum … let me think … 7 years ?
And what's so special on that damn car ? I mean yeh it's a shame but hey it's the same as Tanner's one, it just has another paint plus if you wanna drive it play Driver 2.

Would you please take your time to read my post thoroughly before you reply to it? I'm talking about the first
cut-scene, in the garage, not the first misson.
And, show some netiquette, please.

Dude, that's not Tanner.
+] It is a Mustang ( You can see the logo, and it's clear )
+] As I said, there's a Mustang in the game ( Mission Superfly Drive )

How can you tell? You don't see the guy's face. I've always thought that was Tanner. Ok, when I think about it, it's kind of strange that a cop steals a car ..
Even the wikipedia article about the game says it's Tanner.

Wikipedia is sh*t, everyone can edit wikipedia's content. Trust the drivermadness wiki
And you see Tanner's face, when he open's the door of the car. And then just compare thise face to Tanner's face in the FMV#s in the game: these are two different guys.

Can't everyone edit the DriverWiki too?
Besides, wikipedia is just as thrustworthy as other encyclopedias. Mistakes and sabotage are quickly spotted and corrected.

The face we see through the window in the car is pretty distorted. Anyway, I thinl it's strange making a cut scene like that without introducing the protagonist in it.

You don't see it through the window but when he's trying to open the car

.
And that cutscene is just like that, for fun, to introduce the game.

Yes you do, actually:
Well, wether it's Tanner or not, it's still an awesome intro

Well … madness didn't open it yet but I think we should, some people like me already know the link, but if every member would have the link, everyone would be able to add things and the wiki would grow up.

It'll be another week until I'm up to that stage.
I just have to finish the basic layouts and concept ideas for the site.
and yeah it looks similar to that car in driv3r, yet I believe it's a different car.

yet I believe it's a different car.
Or just a different colour. I like the D3 version though, that's my favourite miami car i think.

I don't really study the cars that closely, i look at them enough to work out what car they are based on, and leave it at that usually. I don't ever remember driving the car in D1 but i also only remember playing the first few missions.

Which car are from Driv3r are you talking about ?

It's some sort of mustang looking car in miami, there are lots around Tanners house, driving on the street, they have the two stripes down the middle of the car aswell, like the pic from D1.

Oh yeah the first car of the car selection.
Well this car from Driv3r and the car from Driver 1 are not the same cars at all, the car from D1 is a Camaro and the one in Driv3r you were talking about is a 1969 Mustang.
Which car are from Driv3r are you talking about ?
WTF ? Sometimes I'm really to tired to think or to write …

Well they look pretty much the same i think. Maybe D1 car is a bit boxier, but all cars on the PS1 looked like that.

I think the Yellow and Black car was only in the demo version because I saw a screenshot of the demo and it had the Yellow and Black car.

They did put the Yellow and Black car in Driver 2 so it can't be license issues.

Because it is coded into the exe. to only be used in the Newcastle level,or it is coded into the DMS. mission file.
