I found my old Driver disk from a pile of old games and dust and decided to install it.

Once installed, the problem is, I go to launch it, the blue circle icon appears next to the cursor, then nothing happens.

I'm running it in compatibility mode for Windows 7 and as Administrator. Still the same. I've tried XP and 98/ME as well.

I also downloaded the "Windows_8_8_1_DDRAW_FPS_FIX" and didn't make a difference.

Is there anything else I can check for?

Update - I used "Driver_2.1_UK" patch and I can start the game. But now the CONFIG.EXE gives me the error "NO COMPATIBLE 3D DEVICES FOUND"

I dragged the files into the games folder.

The config tool works now. I could set the resolution and save the settings.

Now the game spits out an error:
"The procedure entry point DirectDrawEnumerateExA could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Program Files(x86) \GT Interactive\Driver\Game.exe"

Right click the .EXE (Driver 1 of course), click Properties, go to Compatibility, enable the button "Enable compatibility to run this program" (Probably says something else. Whatever, same thing) then check what OS the disc supports. If it's Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, or XP, click one of those to get the game to work.

He already did that, as stated in his first post. Btw, directx version issue obviously.

I thought about manually installing directx 6, but then realised, it is already supported because of backwards compatibility. Facepalm.

Well, then this has been an unproductive use of our time.
