Ive just begun to start playing driver 1 (pc (im on windows xp media centre)) again, and i heard fraps stuffed it up, so i turned off fraps before playing. When i play the game it still take ages for the car to respond to me pushing keys. Are there any other programs that dont work with driver?

I suggest you close all the background applications which are running which shouldn't be running; the best way of doing this is by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del go to processors and start closing things. NOTE: there are many things that you can't close and there is also usually an background process running which you shouldn't close or your computer will be put in FORCED Shut Down; so it's a smart idea to keep all the "svchost" processors running.

Also FRAPS is a common program which always screws up "DRIVER" so it is best to make sure it is 100% closed and that it isn't in the task bar or the background aplications as a process called "Fraps".

Also when people all make the upgrade to Windows Vista i'd like to announce that "Driver" and "Fraps" work perfect tograther and I can capture Screenshots and Videos easily :D.

I believe you can shut everything in processes under your user name, except for explorer and systray. I just dont want to shut all off them, so i dont have to restart the pc after playing driver. I guess its just trial and error to figure out the prosesses that stuff it up :(
