I put in my Driver PS1 disc into my laptop, went to the Sound folder, and opened up MUSIC.BIN. Here is the beginning of the code:
Code: Select allD p^ 4„ ¬ÿ à B X¶ Ü à ‚ â€Â» ì( °a à ì!

I googled it and it seems that FastTracker v2.00 is some kind of file format.

Hi everyone, I'm looking for extracting those original music files from the psx cd for a long time, but there's no FasTracker file on it, except FETUNE.XM which doesn't work.
If anyone know how to do this I'd be very thankful !

I imagine Brimble exported the stuff into an .xm file before he handed them over to Reflections, keeping the original FastTracker files to himself.
By the way, there's a translate button in our toolbar. Use it if you need.

Actually I saw on a forum that he didn't even keep his music from Driver 1... Shame on him.
Anyway, I meant those files are necessarily on the cd, certainly under a kind of encryption so I wanted to know if someone knew how to get all this.

Yeah, I read that too. I think it's hanging around here too.
But anyway, try to get ahold of someone972. He MIGHT be able to help.

I contacted him but no answer.
So : I further looked at the music.bin file, which looks very like a few Fastracker compiled files in one, and in which we can find names of samples used by musics, like "Funk1.wav" for example, and many others. So actually I think it's a kind of encrypted FasTracker compiled files, with samples maybe in it, maybe in an other encrypted file on the cd.
Despite my attempts to truncate this file in different ways, I didn't succeed to recover any original file that could work with FasTracker.
In fact, more than get FasTracker files, I'm truly interested by get the original samples for doing remixes.

Well, Emmet made an 'Ask Allister Brimble' initiation recently.
Read it.
What Allister wrote:
Sorry, no because the music was written in XM format. Also so many chopped up sampled loops were used that sheet music would not be able to convey the music.
You can read about the XM format and download a utility to create XM's here :http://www.modplug.com/trackerinfo.htm
