I just saw this forum, sounds interesting! I was just looking into Unity and re-creating Driver 2 so it's very curious to me.
I feel like the way to get this off the ground would be a prototype, followed by crowdfunding to re-create the rest of the game.

Driver 2 is probably the most nostalgic of the series for me, and using Unity we could introduce online multiplayer and fix some of the missing elements the game has (such as water, etc)

Well you came back a little bit late because you missed a lot of things in this sub-forum, about this prototype that I started a while ago.
This sub-forum was created to my request, so i am also the moderator. There were 11 topics about its development at the time.

Sadly, a small "incident" (on which I will not come back) happened on the Discord server this year, and i was so angry about it, that I decided to delete all the topics (stupid decision actually).

So i don't say that the prototype is dead or abandoned, but i don't know when i will put back the topics here (I just need to find the motivation again).

Anyway I would like to thank those who supported me since this "incident"

Ahh right I see. I've been playing around in unity (for the first time ever, might I add)
So time consuming to learn, but managed to get the classic Driver camera controls and a basic starter area working with a Dodge Challenger etc.

However if something is already being worked on, it might be an idea if others can collaborate? Not sure if thats the case already, but I feel like if a few people could build a prototype, we could try a crowd funding campaign, raise funding and build a full game (albeit it would have to be branded as something else to avoid legal action).

It does seem like Driver 1 or 2 would be a lot less work to recreate due to the simpler geometry and physics etc.

Again, apologies if this is already happening but i'd like to be involved if possible - I have graphic design/3D modelling experience personally.

I keep checking this over a year later hoping you would post more news about this project. Please man, you don't realize how much this hurts your fans of your project by not showing off news.

It is a pity that the project is frozen, so much work can be lost. Did you have any desire to open the source code of the project so that someone could continue working?

im glad to see you are back at the prototype. i just found out about it through the discord. i would personally welcome you back to the server but if you still dont want to then i understand. great work man.
