DS or PSP?

Hello again. I guess you could call this one a poll but I was wondering which was better DS or PSP? I was thinking of buying a new handheld console for Christmas but can't decide which! I've never really liked Nintendo that much but I haven't much experience with Sony. PSP does have Driver 76 and GTA:VCS and GTA:LCS so maybe that. What do you guys think? DS or PSP?

Id definitely buy PSP. DS looks too gay to me. PSP is serious and goodlooking. Unfortunately i havent got any experience with both. By the posibilities and quality DS could be better.. i dont know. Read other forums, check released games on both consoles.. Driver 76 ...oh yes ^^
HA! i bet nobody even noticed that i was gonee

I say PSP, unless you like games like mario and pokemon, then get a DS and just forget you ever asked for an opinion. Any DS games i would want i just downlaod with some emulators, illegal i know but o well.
So yeah get a PSP, and soon that's even getting gran turismo, so you can take a great game with you wherever you go.... A D76

Yes Touch screen is cool but not all together revolutionary. The better system content wise is the PSP

Not to mention the gay ass puppy games with it. I have a DS and its a piece of sh*t. I hold my grudge against the guy that works at the store I bought it at a couple years ago for conning me into buting a DS instead of a PSP and I wish I would have never fell for it. The games for the DS suck. To be honest the only thing I like on DS is the Pictochat feature or whatever only because it has a little sketch box where I can draw my graffiti and other things on there just like a piece of paper. So get a PSP.

You can also turn your psp into a video phone with a small piece of hardware.
There is almost nothing you cannot do with this wonderful device. But like everything which is better than it's competitors usually comes at a larger cost.
I'm actually surprised Nintendo is making so much profit and sony is trying to give their device the lowest price as usual. The newer slim sony psp's come with the functionality of hooking them up to your tv to play them on your TV, Driver: 76 on full screen, HELL YEAH!
Hopefully you'll be able to find the new slim psp which was just released last month, it's about 30% lighter and can do a lot more, it's even slightly faster.
Thinking about getting a ps3 well the good news is you can use both together and use the psp as an external rear view mirror in some of the upcoming more popular games like GT5.
I suggest you get the PSP if your a real gamer, I personnaly would never buy a DS because 80% of the games look like their for children and the other 20% are good but have crappy graphics.
So once again my suggestion is the PSP.
A little more expensive but worth the price.
NOTE: I have never owned a psp but I know all the techniqual specifications of both devices and the psp completely pwns the DS.
another good idea is to try and in store demo, try both of them before you buy. But straight away if your a gamer you'll straight out perfer the PSP for it's untra-realistic gameplay and attention to detail. With the ability to do anything as well as play movies why not.
You cannot do much with DS but you can do so much with the PSP!
and it's got Driver: 76.

The PSP simply rocks!
Normal PSP
- Music
- Video
- Very cool UMD Games
- Up to 4 GB memory (ms duo)
- Internet browser on PSP
- Multi-Player games
- Customize Wallpaper
- NEW camera
- etc.
Hacket PSP or custom Firmware...
- Music where ever you are
- Screenshot Taker
- Flash Player
- GPS navigation system
- Flash and Java games (Awesome 3D games as Doom or Wolfenstein)
- Windows 95, 98, 2000, NT, XP, Vista-kinda
- Customize icons, the PSP theme, the sound, the text, the wallpaper etc.
- Play Piano, Guiter etc.
- Paint programs
- PSX games 100% compitable or better..
- Millions of things....
So, yeah, kinda get a PSP!

What do you mean with "PSX games 100% compitable or better.. " ? how can you play PSone games on your PSP ?!

How to:
Just convert the PSX file with P0pstation (program) and make the logo and start image and evt. a song and put it in your PSP.
You have to already have the Custom Firmware on PSP which is cool.
It plays like a PSone but in some games, the loading is faster.
That's what I mean.

...And that is 1000% true.
Once again. Never listen to people at the store. I wish I could go back and kick that dudes' face in... but that was like forever ago so I will let it go.

Hell Yeah Brother!
I had a similar problem once, buying a game called Black. The guy said he owned it and it was quite a long game. I told him after renting it that i had finished seven levels. He told me there was still ages to go. If he truly owned it, he would have known the game only has eight or nine missions... Bastard.
I suggest you get the PSP if your a real gamer
I would if i could afford one.
It's much better over all though. Better games and tech and whatnot.

You don't need any disc man.
You need to convert the file, 'inside' the PSX disc.
Don't worry about the screen size and all that advanced crap.
Cause, you can change everything.
The best firmware for PSP is of course : 1.5
When having it, you can change to custom firmware.
My PSP's firmware is : 3.30 OE-A'

I'm getting my cellphone today (K800i), and I'm gonna post a video of the PSP playing Driver 1 and 2 and also while making a movie in Film Director.
You'll see. It looks so awesome....!

sorry to say but these aren't the best phones in the world. two of my friends have them.
Back on topic.
You don't need any disc man.
Then how does it play the game if you don't use the disc, really your explanation is confusing.

Yup, just goes to show you- The guy at the store will say
anything for you to buy something so he can get his commissions check.

Good for you man, take his job away from him and, lol, if it was me Id tell him exactly what I was doing. But I guess you shouldn't take my advise lol. I dont want to screw up your chances for it.
As for commissions, I am pretty sure they get em in the US, Im not 100% sure though. But you can get commission for a lot of different things so I don't know.

Who
did say that it was the best phone in the world?
Hmm, I didn't - then I don't understand why you say it cause I think everyone knows it.
Also, you are a little wrong.
Not every mobile phone has 3.2 Mega Pixel Cam.
Now, don't tell me that there's 5 Mega pixel Cams on Phones out there, cause the world already know.
Daltarin-Elite wrote:

No, my explanation is pretty easy to understand.
You just have to know a little more about Sony's PSP.
The PS1 games on a PSP is kinda old news now.
So, have you ever heard of an UMD with a PSX game?
No - Cause there ain't any.
And the result wouldn't be too good, if you putted a gaint PSX disc in the PSP.
So, that's why I did say, you put the PSX FILE on your MEMORY STICK.
Clear info below:
- You need firmware
1.5 on your PSP
- Install a
Custom Firmware (3.30 OE-A' or like)
- Have a Original
PSX game
- Put it in your PC
- Convert the file to a .PBP and a BIN file. (
P0pstation program needed)
- Save the file on your PC
- And - TAKE THE
PBP and
BIN FILE TO YOUR
MEMORY STICK in the folder
GAME150.
---
Also, try to understand that the PSP can't play PSX games if it runs on an original SONY firmware.
If you don't belive me, I don't give a damn..

That's because it's on a Sony UMD.
So, it's not a PSX game but a PSP game.

Well here would be the problem. I never remember reading that line of information, if i had actually seen this, i never would have questioned the whole thing.
Who did say that it was the best phone in the world?
Hmm, I didn't - then I don't understand why you say it cause I think everyone knows it.
Well, it's sort of a hyperbole really, i know i didn't need to tell you, but i was just meaning, from what i have heard, these are not recomendable phones for the price, that was all. But if you don't want my advice just ignore it.

Yeah, they are a little expensive.
But, you still get what you want.
And the point of the phone must be the Camera.
Anyway I really don't want any advices.

I wanted to record it, and it's
already done.
I made a topic over
here!
About Driver 1 & 2 on PSP.. (vids)
