Mac? PC? Apple? Microsoft?

A few weeks ago I hated anything Apple. I hated Macs, I hated iTunes, and I hated iPods.
Then my friend told me that her household is converting to Mac, and getting rid off their windows PC. I was about to take up my automatic postition of "windows is better" whenever someone mentions Apple, but I thought about it, and tryed to decide what is so great about a Operating System that isnt that user friendly, loves crashing, has given me about a million different error messages, and has "troubleshooting wizards" that send you in an endless circle of frustration. Even though she is by no means a computer expert
, what she said about Mac's (user friendly, never crash, just make sense) got me thinking.
So I've done a bit of research on the Apple site and various reviews and videos on the internet, and I've pretty much been converted. Now I am typing this on Safari (the Apple web browser) for windows, while listening to a song on iTunes (its so much better than Windows Media Player... I can't believe I didn't like it in the past). I also really want a new MacBook Pro and a top-of-the range iPod. Now I just need four grand
One minor drawback is compatibility... especially for games. But EA has recently teamed up with Apple, so that most of its new releases will all so have Mac versions. There are also options like bootcamp, parallels and VMware fusion that let you run windows on a Mac for compatibility. This may be seen by some to defeat the whole purpose of owning a Mac, but too me it gives you the best of both worlds.
The reason I have put all this is I have a feeling it will spark some interesting discussion. Quite a few users of this site seem to be Mac users, and I'm interested to see the different views of everyone over this much debated topic.
So feel free to post any opinions and views, or other facts and comments you have over Macs, PCs, Apple, Microsoft etc.
