GTA: San Andreas

Platforms: XBox (but also works on the 360), PS2, PC
players: 2
ESRB Rating: M

Stariting off: You play as CJ, in a large state known as San Andreas, This is a game that never gets old, with awesome things to do like side missions and a fun story, not to mention the fun stuff like skydiving and gambling there are alot of vehiclles to drive and a bunch of guns to shoot up people with.

Story: 8/10, to me the story was awesomely amazing, but this was only becasue i really like the atmosphere of it, even though it was your typical underdog story type game, it's still fun to play around with.. side missions are fun, and pay a nice bit of cash, but they get boring after like the 7th level, but still.

Character Customization: 6/10 The clothes you can purchase are pretty cool and fit the gangsta setting, so i gave it a 2 thumbs up, however, the only really physical things you can change on CJ is his hair and weight, so that kinda brings doen the custom effect, but unlike VC, atleast you can change into different matches of clothes instead of just outfits.

Car customization: 8/10 car customization in GTA SA isnt as good as Saints Row's however, there are alot of options you cans till chooe form, but some cares have to be pimped at diffeent garages, bnut only a handful, becasue they are different vehicles (low-riderz and tuners i think)

Graphics: 7/10 well this games graphics really arent that great becasue the game is fairly old, but even though the graphics are not-that-great the other features make up for the graphics. The graphics are good, but not great, small details are uncommon, but the game still has blood, tire tracks, ect ect ect.... and another thing is is even though it had cpies on different platforms the game is still the same.

Other stuff: There are many hiddin things within san andreas, both awarding, and for entainment purposes, they have plenty different forms of water where you can swim and the underwater is pretty detailed, which is also a good thing if your driving a boat and crash. they have trains which you can ride, both a passenger train and a freight, the lenghts of these trains are dissapointing, but what do you expect? the game also has tags where you can do some graf, which is one thing i like...

Vehicles: well not much to say: alot of cars, ranging from taxis, cop cars, sports cars, exotic cars, sedans, sport sedans, old cars, hovercars, emergency vehicles, heavy duty vehicles, planes, trains, and bicyicles.

Overall: 8/10 This is a great game, no matter what any hater says, and even tho it has beef with the driver sereies, i still think SA is one of the best games ever, from all of the features and customization, and the huge landscape, i will never forget this game, especially since i played it last week, lol, but serioulsy, GTA SA still leads the boards as one of the top 50 games ever created.

Thanks for reading!

I would agree there is a wide variety of things you can do in this game, but as most people have already known that it's not my kind of game. It was on the day of it's release for it's first too weeks but then it got boring real quick so I went back to driv3r.

The game is a great little free-form roamer, with loads of different things you can do laid out around the city. The main part which really shines is it's modding community, you want a mod it's most likely already created by one of the many fans out their in their modding community.

So I start playing the game, yeah... you play as CJ in a darker environment from what I thought was better "vice city" as it was a brighter more vibrant city. With a storyline which looked like it was inspired by this R18+ movie I watched ages ago which was created way back in 1990. Anyways maybe I'll get back on track...

the game involved lots of unrealistic car chases, with cartoonist graphics. The storyline wasn't much either it seemed more like a point a to point b thing throughout the game. Unlike Driver: Parallel Lines realism is quite restricted which annoyed me.

There is a lot more to do in the game and I kind of know why it has such a large fan base, but as a true driver fan, I absolutely changed my thought on the series and move to the more realistic and funner driving physics which can be found in the driver series.

Well, i never said the game was perferct, and im not siding with GTA or none of that bull$hit, but Drivers car chases were pretty unrealistic too, but they both were good games, and im looking forward for the sereies to continue.

D3 was boring to me, becasue they had basicly noting to do but steal cars and get shot by annoying cops on the sidewalk...
SA was cartoony and it had an unrealistic story...

DRIV3R, still had a few problems like every game out their on the market none of them are perfect. The main thing I always hated about driv3r was all the cops that shoot at your from the sidewalk wreaking your ride before you could do anything with it.

But I found there were lots of things to do in driv3r, and in my opinion I'd say there is a lot more to do than there is to do in GTA: San Andreas. Sure in san andreas you have a hundred hidden packages to find, around 80 missions, around 100side missions, lots of things to play around with but not all of them are all that exciting, especially playing that little game of astorides or real simple things like pong which get real boring real quick. But of course your not forced to play these so there is really no problem but of course not everything is exciting.

Sure in driv3r there isn't much to do and the most hated things I noticed was having to kill timmies what's the point of that. There was no point but then it was a way of unlocking something to get more out of the game.

You had modes like infant mass mode, truck chaos and a hidden things in nice which activates millions of people who will do anything to try and kill you and those arn't the things which make driv3r last longer.

It's a range of two things, the totally unique handling and the Film Director.
Many of us have spent hours and hours making replaces making them perfect and showing them off to the world.

Take "Symantecus" for example he has used driv3r to produce an amazing machinima project and ababbs who has created multiple videos with the film director. All the gta fans are complaining that driver series is taking all their ideas, but all their ideas are common sense and the driver series have some of the most innovative and unique ideas ever.

also I'm not taking a go at you sedans, just a wide base of the gta and driver community with this stupid clone thing. It always comes back to haunt me.

Yeah, well i really liked Infanate mass mode, sucks that it was only in istanbul, i really liked it, it was hilarious taking a small car and ramming head on with like a bus and watching it fly up in the air.

too hate the Driver VS GTA wars, but madness, there is nothing that we can do, we can never say The words Driver VS GTA in the same sentence, but there will always be some bimbo that wants to argue with someone else whos innocent, but thats life. i have love for both series, but there are strong and weak ppoints that i have to point out, im sorry.

Also, film directer is something i dont really like to usei mean personally i dont see how people really like to fool with that stuff, but hey, to each is own. i only used FD like 2 or 3 times, and thats becasue some pretty awesmoe stuff happened i survival in miami. lol.

on that topic, I'll hopefully be uploading some pretty awesome content from many of my driv3r replays which I've also further edited with other professional applications.

GTA: SA has a more tuned down version of the Film Director where it replays the last 30seconds of gameplay, it's alright for capturing those moments but you can only save 1 replay during the entire game and when you go to save your next one the previous replay if gone forever.

GTA:SA I guess is more of an arcade game, with some bits of realism. Like tail slides and things like that but it isn't handed all that realistically.

But still is a fun little game, but isn't worth it if your a really big driver fan.
But there is nothing wrong with liking both, or just one of the games.

It's just when you completely arguing about them bring somewhat similar.
But I'll most likely keep that the end of the two games, somewhat colliding togeather.

But I'll just say one last thing, how come people start going around and start saying, "GTA Clone", I know what they mean but it's a wonder why people don't start going around with other games and start saying "Far Cry" clone and "Track Mania Clone". It must have start with 1 person which all of a sudden kicked of a trend.

anyways, I think this'll be my last post in this thread...
I've made my point and it's time for me to leave...

To be honest, i never really cared for the Driver series, i just most of the time stand up for Grand Theft Auto, but seriously madness, if you are able to handle playing driv3r for abou 3 day, then i know why you're username is "madness", i know i can be a critic, And i am a GTA fanboy, yes, i admit that VCS had too much glitches and was too blurry, but madness, you're pretty much also a fanboy for driv3r, i just couldn't stand it, the walking motion was HORRIBLE, you always ended up swirling when in a car, the shooting was a pain in the ass, what i'm saying is GTA isn't really a Cartoony looking Game, i don't know why people say that, The Simpsons: Hit and Run was Cartoony, and whenever i play driv3r, True Crime: NYC ect. it make me board as f**k, i get a horrib;e headache, and i get depressed becuase it's so bad. I never got a chance to play Driver: PR or Saints Row, and i pretty much don't want to.

That probably isnt the best thing to say on a forum for driver games. It really frustrates me when people compare GTA and driver. We have had this stupid argument/debate/discussion hundreds of times before all over this forum. They are different games. Live with it.
Driv3r is a driving game not a shooting game, perhaps that is why the shooting is "a pain in the ass". And anyway, its isnt that bad, although i admit it could be done better... I hardly ever shoot in the game anyway.
And like madness said... I have made my point, now I am leaving this thread.
