Driver Madness

Ever since the forum has been down obviously, statistics have gone down, Such as the member rate, Now thats a good thing, but onl to a certain extent, because that means less spam, That also means that less users, means a smaller community, So that downs on madness's paln on having DM as the largest driver fansite, Now im in with helping on that idea, But yall need to help too. if you know how to get in touch with old members that havent come back, please do so. If you know someone who is a good, honest user from another fansite or somewhere else, please Invite them for a stay, and tell them that you told them to come here so you will recieve credit. Thank you for all of your cooperation!!

Yah, man. I hope the boss has good luck with this here joint, and can make it his permanent residence, or at least take his domain name with him wherever he may go next. I like this fan site.

The fansite should be able to stay on this domain forever and soon I'm getting driver madness another domain.

I also plan to stay on this server for ever, it's pretty good and has a lot of space and available bandwidth.

In the future, you probably already know but I'm working on many different sub-sites for this site which will give users more to do and make everything more exciting. =D

Ah, cool. I don't usually get excited about much or look forward to anything, really, but I feel interested to know what this playground will look like once all the monkey bars and swings are up.

I don't know what a splash screen or whatever you called it is. What's that, the index page or homepage or whatever? Intro page where you click high-speed or dial-up? I remember sometime ago (I think anyway) some dude was calling it just a message board in your feedback thread, though saying it was a nice message board. I guess it'll look more like a website to dudes like that when they see the graphics you mentioned incorporating—including Flash stuff or whatever, like ppl have come to expect when they enter a website, I guess. I just wonder how you can pull off all this work you do using a dial-up connection.

For other morons, here's a bit on splash pages from wikipedia or whatever it's called.

On the Internet, a splash screen or splash page is a page of a web site that is a sort of pre-home page front page, usually providing no real information besides perhaps a note about browser requirements and sometimes a web counter. Often, this page is graphics-intensive and used only for reasons of branding, and sometimes it provides a choice of entry points for the site proper, such as links to Adobe Flash and HTML-only versions of the site.

Since splash screens may sometimes take a long time to load, they are not universally liked by users. Web splash screens are especially inconvenient for users with slow internet connections, as the first page takes longer to load.

Splash screens often don't include any meaningful text, by nature. This often negatively impacts a site's ranking on search engines.

I think madness should go on an advertising spree on the other driver fan sites? Try to get other people to join? Or maybe you could use some money and put proper adverts on the web?

for starters, the only other fairly popular driver site I know about is Coyotes' driver-4.com and I don't think he'll be fond of me going on an advertising spree within his forums.

Putting adverts on the web really doesn't feel worth it and I feel that we will get many more driv3rdood clones by doing this. If you don't know what a driv3rdood clone he is a banned user on this forum that always complained how bad driv3r was and how good GTA is.

Also I prefer putting money back into getting this site hosted!
The bill is slowly getting larger, but soon in the future I'll make it more worth it when I get the downloads base back up and running.

BTW: This thread was originally posted back in mid 2007 (a year ago from now).

Since February 2008 we are 4-7 active users on my forum, so I don't think my site is the right place to make publicity. But I think it has something to do with the phpBB-3, on the site a lot of people are posting, but on the forum, they are not many people that register. The activation-mail doesn't work, but some reached to register without it, and if I desactivate it, they are stupid bots who register on the site. They never post, except once, but I don't like it.
