UTLIMATE DRIVER Re-design

Just to let everyone know, I'll be updating Ultimate Driver over the coming days, so if the site goes all sh*tty at times, ignore it.
Although if there are any problems that remain for more than a day, can you let me know in the shoutbox, and I'll sort it.
I'm going to try and make it look more like a Driver SF theme.

Looking good, man. Not that it really matters, but in the phrase "four year wait" featured prominently on your home page, the words four and year make up a compound adjective. When placed before the noun it modifies, a compound adjective is hyphenated. Good luck with things at your ULTIMATE DRIVER website.

It would be nice if Weebly didn't have a whole f***ing ad page come up every god damn time I try to navigate your site. This is why Ultimate Driver is unbearable for me - there are ads EVERYWHERE.

Every time I click on a new page to go to, say for example Downloads, a whole new f***ing window pops up and its either about watching TV for free or some file hosting...it pisses me off!

Love your website, except for all the non-DRIVER stuff all over the place. What is the deal, you make money on all that stuff or you have to have all that stuff to get the hosting or what?

I guess they do not want people to suffer those ads interminably (is that a word?) But visitors to ULTIMATE DRIVER who leave cookies blocked may not be so lucky as the boss was. It seems like the ad pages only keep repeatedly opening for me when I have cookies blocked. Otherwise, it only happens one time per visit (with cookies enabled).
Similarly, the following hyperlinks to those ad pages only open once with cookies enabled, but then the "Cannot open web page" (or whatever it says) message appears instead of the ad pages loading. Disable cookies, and the ad pages in today's experiment (lol) open every time the hyperlinks are clicked.

Here is one example of what the ad pages look like, man. Emmetmcl, please reply to let me know when you have done with this image, so I can delete it from my imageshack.com account. Thank you, man.

Sorry, man. I got in a hurry to go take care of something and did not measure my last words very carefully (words placed at the beginning of my previous post actually). Hopefully those words about non-DRIVER stuff all over the place will not discourage any readers of this topic from visiting emmetmcl's ULTIMATE DRIVER website, which is strictly business when it comes to DRIVER game content. I guess I made it sound like your website is cluttered up with content having nothing to do with DRIVER, which is, of course, not the case.
There is this business of being, not really redirected but interrupted, I guess, by full-sized ad pages that open in your face, even though they do not prevent the ULTIMATE DRIVER page you have just clicked on from opening as well. Like Dr. Doom, I found it pretty annoying, and I can only imagine that others who encounter that might be inclined, as Dr. Doom and I were, to regard that as part of the ULTIMATE DRIVER website experience, even though it really is not. That reaction on my part has influenced me to go less often than I otherwise might to look at what is, to me, a genuinely fine DRIVER website. (What do you guys call it, fansite?)
There is, however, some ad space that is situated right in the middle of the actual ULTIMATE DRIVER web pages, as opposed to being displayed above the header. I guess that sort of thing does not seem so bad at places where the pages are divided up into boxes (frames or whatever) so that the ads are merely displayed alongside the articles, etc. At ULTIMATE DRIVER that ad space sort of breaks up the page visually.
That is part of why I was wondering if you get revenue from ads or if it is just the price, so to speak, of being hosted. Is it more effective to have ads placed in the middle of the pages instead of out of the way, like at DriverMadness.net? Even if more people look at and click on ads located in the midst of content, does that come at the risk of unintentionally discouraging people from viewing the website further or returning to the website? Is the positioning of the ad space arbitrary or do you select where it is displayed, man?
Are the hyperlinks generated by the text something that just happens or is it something you chose from available features?
I hope you do not mind the questions, emmetmcl. I have one more, though. Is emmetmcl how we should address you, or do we write emmet or Emmet or something?

Thanks for the insight, I'll have a look at the site. The ads were for the money needed to keep the UltimateDriver.net domain, this is the second time I've had to put ads on the site, to be honest, I dont really like them much myself either.
And you can call me whatever you want.

Emmet will do just fine.

OK, removed the adverts since its annoying so many people.
Let me know if you're still getting pop-ups, thanks.

Just do not call him late for dinner.
Sorry if I made it seem like the ads were a party pooper or whatever, man. I do not think they were too bad. Just wondering what other visitors might think mostly. I am kind of a one-Driver website sort of person anyway. I like to visit and read at other Driver website, though.
Speaking of which, does a person have to be registered and logged in to view your forum, Emmet? If that is the case, can people register if they are really only interested in reading and not very interested in posting? Sorry if that is an uncool question, man.
Good luck with ULTIMATE DRIVER. That really is a nice place, to be sure.

Yeah, mate, you have to register, but you can register and just read if you want, you don't HAVE to post.
Although the forum is closed now, you can still access it through the direct link.
