Okay, I just downloaded Ubuntu and I'm setting it up in VirtualBox to run Seamlessly with Windows XP. Is this just a waste of time or is it worth it?

Adding the guest additions for Ubuntu in VB is a pain in the ass. Just dual-boot

I don't have the space for dual-boot on my C Drive. I have the VM on my D drive.
Anyways, what are the advantages of Ubuntu compared to Windows XP?

You know, I might dual-boot it if I can make enough room. I'm missing alot of features when emulating it, and it lags. But, it is still very fast.

you can install it on any drive you want, just use the LIVECD and start the set-up, but because Ubuntu labels drives as sda1 and stuff look for the free space. what version did you download, and be aware it installs the Grub boot loader, but you will work it out, also if you didn't already know, ubuntu has a repoitory of programs and games, just need to install them form the add/remove menu, you can even install Compiz, which is advanced desktop effects. but all in all its pretty straight forward. but i would also install WINE, from add remove list, as its a microsoft emulator, so you can run, windows programs, as alot of stuff wont work under ubuntu, but it has everything you need.

good luck, if you have and problems i might be able to give you screenshots.

I wouldn't suggest formatting the hard drive, then just putting Ubuntu on. I suggest leaving them dual-booted.

Well, I was talking to Galen about this. I am going to try to dual boot it this weekend. Then I will try running my game in "Wine".

I like Ubuntu because it has better support and repositories. I also have the Gnome and KDE desktop environments installed, but i fucked up the KDE one.

Well, I didn't really installed Fedora. I'm running it from the Live CD. However, I don't what's happening because I can't install it. Yes, I did format my HDD, created a partition, yet it doesn't install. It keeps saying that I don't have enough space. Is that mean that I'll have to install Fedora first and then Windows?

Nick, don't install Fedora if it is giving you that crap. Obviously it is no good if you are having trouble even after formatting (which you should not have done). If you got Ubuntu, you could have RESIZED your partition. But, it is too late. Oh, and I do have StarFox 64. I beat it several times.

In your opinion, yes.
I prefer using Windows to run my site, which is basically all I do now.
