Driver Madness

I donwloaded GM7 yesterday I thought I'd have a stab at making a game, so I did.

At first, I could only put a background on but I eventually figured how to do it and this is the result.

I know it's not good, I'll be the first to admit but over all, it took about 3 hours.

No offense but, you are a total noob at game designing. First of all, it sucked. Second, I could make a much much better game(which I am currently working on) without a cheesy little program like yours. My friend has GM and the program is for total noobs. No offense dude.

Once you get to using it, it can do alot more.
I typically use examples, a.k.a "engines", on it. It's quite useful.

I didn't even move one pixel and I crashed.

Yeah, that happened me afew times, the car is in a rectangle you see, if you drive onto the brown at the side of the road you'll see what I mean, anyway, when the edge of the box hits anything, even if the car itdelf doesn't hit it, you have to start again.

Earlier when I was making it, if you crashed into one car, all of the cars would explode.

Not bad, my first game was far pooer; Chris, what is wrong with game maker? it provides a steady learning curve, allowing plebs like me to slowly progress into dabbeling with code and the 3d environment! What are you using btw?

I asked him that too.

He won't give you a real answer, besides saying that he uses things(?) that are beyond are little minds.

Game Maker is too limited. You have to learn its little gay language in order to do the advanced stuff. I take the route that I already know a lot about.

So? I enjoy working with GML, to an extent.

Chris you MUST stop "verbal attacks" on people you think aren't as good as you. Just because he used Game Maker, does not give you the right to slander his work. If you also read his post, he made it in 3 hours, its his first game. You can even see by the post time he is not lying.

I say good work emmetmcl, and congrats.

and on a final not Chris, you should immediately slander someone! you sould say good work for your first time, and maybe suggest a better program, AND NOT compare it to something that has been in development for weeks to something in 3 hours.
