Un-knot your panties there, chief...

I work a HARD LABOR job & do odd jobs for people in my free time for money. I pay the insurance on the vehicles & guess what, the car was practically free - since the insurance from my accident gave me 7K for my old Vic and the one I have now only cost 9K, I damn near got my '05 for free. The insurance on the pick'em up isn't cheap, nor is the Vic. State minimum was raised last year & I'm struggling. I work hard for my money & can afford two cars. And FYI, I buy my own food usually twice a week, so that's even more of my money I use just so I can eat. Not to mention I usually pay for my lunch at school too. I also have a hand in paying the BILLS in this house.

If that's spoiled, then I guess I'm rotten.

So before you come at me with accusations, maybe you should learn a few facts. Don't come at me unless you know what you're talking about - which, obviously, right now, you don't.

EDIT: You too, Nick.

"Lucky people are lucky"

Careful how you use the phrase "lucky". You don't know how people live, if someone has a car but is in debt, doesn't have a home, and is being divorced, is he lucky? What if you didn't know all that, what if you just thought he was lucky because he had a car & you didn't know all that other stuff, is he still lucky? NO.

i was not trying to be rude, but seriously, you shouldn't just get on the defensive is someone says something day, or if they say they were only joking, stop your defensive push. and i am on DM every day, i am only not on it when i am working or i am asleep.

and i wasn't really trying to keep peace i was just trying to tell you to shut up, we all ready worked out you love your cars, enough on the point.

I can be as defensive as I gotdamn want to be. For Nick it was because he said Lucky people are Lucky and the other was for "being a spoiled b*t*h"

I wasn't talking about my personal life directly to you. I was talking to Doom, then, right after I posted I saw that you had made a comment. That's why I added you in. Because you added in the lucky part while originally the whole thing I wrote wasn't even towards you.

If you thought the whole thing about my personal life was aimed at you, then you were mistaken, sir.

Actually, Sedans, I'd have to agree with them... I work two jobs, and one's a night job, so I get paid a pretty amount and I can't afford a car. Of course, I pay bills, rent, for food and now driving lessons, so maybe it's just that a 20 year old has more important things to spend money on than a 16 year old...

...Well, someone was in a bit of a mood. I might be the only one who read Nick's post the way I did, but back when I was 16, if one of my friend's had had a car, I would have been sitting there going "dude, what the f**k, you lucky son of a b*t*h." Even at my age, if someone buys a new car, it's "You lucky b*t*h, gtfo."... I'm pretty sure that's what Nick meant. After all, how many divorced, indebted, homeless 16 year olds with cars do you know?
I still have to wait two years until I can get a driving licence. Well, I'm better than Harlequin! :P
What's that supposed to mean?! Lol, just kidding man... Is that a full licence or just start learning to drive?I can start driving without anyone else in... February I think... So long as I pass the test ;) I'm pretty sure I will though, I'm better with practical tests rather than theory.
But you guys are laughing/criticising me for not getting my licence until now? What do you guys have to do to get your licence? Here, you have to sit a theory exam, then spend 6 months on your learners, where you can only drive with a licenced driver in the car, then you have to take another test (practical, at least) to get onto your p1's, which let you drive around unassisted, provided you have plates up, for one year, or until you turn 19 (according to my book...?) provided you have no demerit points (for speeding, dui's, etc) and pass a hazard perception test, then you go onto your p2's (no plates!) for at least six months before you can get your full licence.
From what you guys have been saying, you take one practical test, and you have your licence. Who would like to b*t*h at me for not having mine? Please, I welcome it, just so I can destroy you.
Miller wrote:Hello DMC.

It sounds like the streets are becoming a whole lot scarier. As far as I can tell, many people where I live do not worry very much about having a valid driver's license.
Harlequin wrote:It's been pretty quiet on here lately... and there rarely seems to be anything new... Perhaps DM isn't going to recover from the changeover... It looks unlikely. And before you say it, I have noticed we have a couple of new people (Yo!), but it's still nowhere near the calibre that it was when Madness was in charge...
Or maybe I'm crazy... Actually, no maybe about it. I'm crazy, but about this I'm sure...
bb_42001 wrote:i am trying my best, but also the lack of news for a few years didn't help either. no news = no interest.
That is pretty much it in a nutshell. It has nothing to do with who is in charge. DriverMadness.net will be looking nice by the time the release of DSF brings new members to the forum.

I just noticed I now have 500 posts. That seems like sort of a milestone for someone like me. I guess that means I have posted 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 words.

Good luck finding the right automobile, Harlequin.
I know, bb and Miller, that there hasn't been a lot of news for a while. That's not what I meant though. I meant that, even though there wasn't a lot of news when Madness was in charge, there was still a lot more traffic... Now it's barely a trickle...

I'd hope a 16 year old would have better things to spend their money on than a 20 year old.

Let me just make something clear: I don't know any of you people for real - NOTHING anyone says on the internet (Here especially) is taken like a joke unless it's accompanied with something that suggests it's a joke or meant to be taken lightly. I cannot see how your tone is thru text. In that case I will defend myself. Call me what you want, defensive or pissy, but I'm quite proud of how I do what I do, and will flame anyone who trys to put me down.

Regardless if I'm 16 or 60, it's my damn money, I earn it, I can do what I want with it. Same thing applies for everyone else. I don't bash other people for what they purchase or their personal taste is (for the MOST part.) I don't care if you roll in a '81 Commodore or a '09 Ferrari, if it's yours then be proud of it.

Oh, and that little "situation" was for arguements' sake. And I wasn't talking about a teenager anyways.

I think there was too much confusion regarding this whole topic.

One more thing, you people give me sh*t & tell me I'm too defensive, or pissy. LOL yall act like you wouldn't do the same damn thing. Anyways, just as I can't see other people's tone on here, yall can't see mine. Caps, cussing, it means nothing - you can't see how I really feel or what I'm mean to say. On that note, I think this topic proves one thing true: the Internetz is SRS BSNS!

One of the students at my school has a BMW Z3. And he got it for <$2,000. I hate him to this day.

Asshole. Lol. One of the girls I went to uni with had a Hummer. Her parents bought it for her for finishing high school... I got a "Why didn't you do better?" and she gets a Hummer. F***ing rich kids. Lol.

Like what, Princess? Unlike you, and the rest of the little high schoolers on here, I have serious things to take care of. It might not be as fun as a car, but damn it, I like taking care of myself, and knowing that, even if I take the bus to work, at least I'm saving money for more important things, like a house, because I'm an adult, and I'm responsible... Or at least that's how I like to see it.
Plus, even if I had a car, I wouldn't use it much. I like not sitting in traffic jams or having to find a carpark... Plus I'm pretty damn fit for not driving everywhere, so it kind of works on different levels :)
Oh, and that little "situation" was for arguements' sake. And I wasn't talking about a teenager anyways.
Well Nick was talking about a teenager: you. Maybe your situation should have been more realistic. And maybe you should have spelt arguments right :p
Ok, now I'm just being a b*t*h. Sorry. See, at least I recognise it.

What the!? How did that happen? I can understand someone getting an 80's Bimmer for that much green, but that!? Hmmm...

Personally, I'd rather have a 2002 than a Z3 myself.

Turn "bitchmode" to the [OFF] position before you reply to any more of my posts.

You just proved my point for me, a 20 year old has to pay bills, etc. A 16 year old doesn't, therefore the 16 year old has better things to spend their money on.

By the way, I don't know about you, but I find feeding myself to be pretty important.

And, I don't like traffic jams, but guess what? I'm an aggressive driver, I get my way thru traffic when I need to. Not only that, but if I'm in a situation where I can't, at least I've got my radio/iPod Aux in my car that I can just sit back & listen to while moving in sluggish traffic.

Now drop it. I pretty much waved the white flag a while back ago.

First day driving alone today and I almost hit someone! I was in the left turn lane for a parking lot, this idiot in a Honda turned his blinker on well before 150ft for the main light he was heading to, and I assumed he was turning into the apartment complex. Well, he slowed down quite a bit, like jerking a bit, and so I figured he was either turning right or u-turning. WRONG. We almost hit each other, and if it wasn't for my good brakes, something bad would have happened. That right there was my wake up call, and from now on, I will be a much safer driver. What scared me the most, was there was a f***ing COP at the light, and I was waiting for him to turn around with sirens blaring to give me a ticket for reckless driving. Never happened, but I'm still shaken.

My car is too precious to die! My $452 a year insurance is too precious to lose! But here's the kicker - "Little Lion Man - Mumford and Sons" had JUST finished playing, and some of the lyrics go:

And it was your life on the line
I really fucked it up this time
Didn't I my dear

Had I crashed, my driving career would have been over just like that. But thank god it didn't happen. *prays it won't happen again*

On another note, $20 of gas gets me roughly 6.5 - 6.8 gallons of gas...LAME! It's almost filled up completely, however. I'm assuming it's a 10 or 11 gallon tank..not sure...

Welcome to the joys of driving. I almost get hit just about every day.

Like I said before, I drive aggresively, and defensively. Plus my knowledge of my car & how it handles has saved me a few times.

Welcome to driving, watch out for the idiots around you. That's how I lost my first car was because of an idiot.
