Two songs I liked from your last album, One Last Thing from October, were “Something I Forgot” and “Sunshine Waterfall”. I also kept laughing in that one song when you would say, “Deuuude.” (I just laughed again.) “Biohazard” was really cool. It was weird, too, because I found myself moving to the beat of other songs that I could tell I was not listening to as closely (I was working on the computer), but “Biohazard” had my full attention even though I was not even bobbing my head in time while it played. I think you saved the best tune for last on that album, man. Of course, I only mean I liked that one the most. “What I Think”

T. K., when I was your age, I would play on my brother’s drum set and record that with the portable stereo thing. And then I would play that back and jam on guitar with it while recording with a second portable stereo. It was like some kind of Afghanistan underground music pirating technique or something, I guess. (What do I know? Saw it on the television one time.) After that I would add another guitar and some singing – I mean, awful singing. It was great fun, man.

I lost all of those recordings. There were not many, but it would be nice to hear those now. It would also be nice to hear the songs my brother and I recorded while we two, as well as we and our other friends, played together. But I lost all that stuff as well.

We were at a park, sitting at one of those concrete picnic table things. It started to rain, so I put the shoebox full of our cassette tapes under the table. Then I forgot it there. It was a few days later when I finally remembered what I had done. My brother and I got in his van and raced to the park. All of the tapes of professional bands were gone, and the remains of the tapes with our own music were melted in the fire pit. Talk about harsh music critics, man. LOL

Hey, man, please take a look at your news spot on our home page thing and then let me know if you want it worded differently. Just make whatever you want it to say about the same number of character spaces, or whatever it is called. Good luck with your music, T.K. I appreciate you sharing your tunes with us, too, man.

Thanks for putting it up there! Means a lot.

"Something I Forgot" was liked by the local dance team, who plans to be using it. "Sunshine Waterfall" was not well-recieved by most, but I'm glad you liked it.
"Gnarly Radical, Dude" was the song you're thinking of with "Duuuuuuuuuuuude", although it's not my voice. I wish I could do that, though.

Biohazard was one of people's favorites, with the top being usually "It Is Here". "What I Think" used to be my favorite of mine, until that got taken by the single I'm releasing tomorrow, "Chords".

Thanks for sharing that story. I always like hearing about people's early recording ventures, and that's really interesting, and a very odd way of recording. Never heard of something like that.

Decided to take everything I've recently recorded (6 tracks) and put it on my next album, "Electric Lights", making it, as of now, a 26-track album.

Current project: Cover of Giorgio Moroder's "Chase". Already taken off and working real well.

The Midnight Express Theme, eh? This should be interesting.

P.S., That Christmas song of yours was good! Maybe I'll check out your other works.

Kinda. IIRC, something completely different is the actual theme. I had the soundtrack.

And thanks, I'm glad you like it! Most preferred it over that remix.

And I finished "Chase". Knocked it down from 8 minutes to 5 and BS'ed some of it. Couldn't transcribe part from sheet music to Ableton right, so repetition if plentiful, but it's really good, actually, but nowhere within 39-and-1/2-foot-pole touching distance. Moroder's is far better, far better than all the covers I've heard.

Well, I trucked on over to Discogs, and there was indeed a track on there called "The Midnight Express Theme", separate from "Chase", so I think you may be right. However, to me, "Chase" is more distinctive, so I think of that whenever I think of "Midnight Express".

Very true.

The actual theme is much slower (I've got it now), but features the same lead.

Bunch of brand-new studio equipment for Christmas today. Very very very happy, and I got msot of everything working. The only thing that's a bit messed up is the cross-fader on a DJ mixer. It reads backwards in Ableton.

New equipment:

Well, since there was an unannounced host swap. I'll put the pics back up tomorrow because now I'm a bit pissed at having not been notified.

Also, February 11th.

you werent notified because i was not aware when exactly it was happening and also because last time when racks unlimited gave me to michtime labs we didn't loose any posts, because they did it properly, where as this time they let the ball drop. and also i didn't need to tell anyone what was happening.

I've been thinking about doing some Ye Olde 90's house music (like early Daft Punk), or perhaps some Moroder-like stuff (which I am REALLY wanting to get into), or maybe just some 70's funk with a drumset, organ, and a Moog for bass, but first I have to buy stuff. Worry not, I am employed.

FINALLY did the LAST fixup on my X-Files cover. Replaced that plucked thing with a piano, the pad with an actual choir, the flute-like synth with something that actual is meant to represent a human whistle, and shortened the synth bass down to just the dancy part.

It's my favorite version yet. I also shortned the chords back down.

Sweet, I'd prefer 90's stuff, that was the peak of electronic music!

Also nice avatar, one om my mates is obsessed with Yahtzee...

Gaining momentum. Starting to really get up there now. Getting some fans. I'm really happy. When I started, I literally knew nothing about how to make music. I taught myself near everything.

And yeah, I love Yahtzee.

+1 So true!

@Sub: if you still getting that links to these Zymic losers, just update the links from my signature.

@T.K.: Electric Lights is just awesome! Reminds me Junkie XL and Daft Punk on the way

For sure, the Chase track is just awesome! Nice replica of Giorgio Moroder`s soundtrack ;)

PS
I love hearing to DnB. Your track 'Literally DnB' is just win. My own favourite DnB style. lol.
