Those arguments people give for why they think one is better than the other are funny. There is definitely more passion involved than one sees in the customer reviews and discussions of an ironing board at Amazon.com, but perhaps not a great deal more than there might be regarding the debate over whether to buy a centrifugal or masticating juicer.
It is difficult to see how the older one would be better than the newer one, but I went and watched SG-1 Children of the Gods at Hulu (sorry, I thought it was HULU), where they do not have the new version, as I guess you know from reading your post. That seems like a pretty cool show, too. I liked that the characters were the same ones portrayed in the Stargate movie with Kurt Russell and James Spader.
