Oh, I see how that sounds (what I posted). Well, a lot of people do prefer the original SG-1 Children of the Gods, but more people seem to prefer the version you recommended, boss. I was just surprised that anyone liked the original version of SG-1 Children of the Gods better than one that had been improved upon, but I guess some do for whatever reason.

Those arguments people give for why they think one is better than the other are funny. There is definitely more passion involved than one sees in the customer reviews and discussions of an ironing board at Amazon.com, but perhaps not a great deal more than there might be regarding the debate over whether to buy a centrifugal or masticating juicer.

It is difficult to see how the older one would be better than the newer one, but I went and watched SG-1 Children of the Gods at Hulu (sorry, I thought it was HULU), where they do not have the new version, as I guess you know from reading your post. That seems like a pretty cool show, too. I liked that the characters were the same ones portrayed in the Stargate movie with Kurt Russell and James Spader.

The old one, has a nude scene, which they cut out of the new one, plus the scene were Sam carter says her sex organs are on the inside instead of the out, and the part where kawolskey get infected with a gouald at the end, were all cut from the new version. although the new version has been remastered with some extra cgi scenes.

But really, that song "Fireflies" is so happy and fuzzy, I really get physically sick. Last week, I wrote a parody and had to keep playing the song over and over again in my head. I felt like crap by the end of it.

I like it TK... But it gets played a bit too much... Mumford and Sons are on my now playing list... The Cave is an awesome song :D
Have you heard the Tik Tok parody by Midnight Beast? It's higher on Australian charts than Kesha is

I'm back from the sockhop.
I have learned one thing: kids have horrible taste and are belligerent about it. We had to start taking requests, and we didn't have 95% of them, but unlike the other DJ's, we apologized for the lack of requests played, and I promised to have them at the next dance, which I will. I kept the request list.
After a while, Payton put out some "NO MORE REQUESTS" signs. There was one kid there that I can respect, because he knew we were ahving trouble and recommended we put out an announcement, although we did put out the signs. He even tackled one girl that took off with one of the signs.

Overall, I was happy with it, and Austin and I got paid $50 a piece, so that actually matched our normal rates of $50 an hour we were thinking about. The principal was really kind, and she brought out some requests paper after our initial announcement. We've pretty much got our next gig, since she said "Sorry about the requests, but with this list, you can download these songs and have them ready before the graduation party."

Mom walked in, said one of the teachers that I know asked how we did. The dance coordinator said we did great.

Current Financial Status: $180 to spend.

That's awesome dude! I could have told you about the horrible music tastes of kids. My niece loves Miley Cyrus, my cousin (who's dad lives with me...Sigh) loves some Dinosaur Walk song? He was singing it all last night. We fought through our sound systems: him with his dad's epic stereo and 70's music and me with my awesome sound system and Maximum the Hormone. I'd like to say I won on the awesome scale, but his crappy 70's music could be heard from the shopping centre up the road... I hate little kids. Lol.

So long as they weren't asking you to play Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus music, the requests thing sounds quite reasonable :) Good luck with the grad one.

Thanks!

Yes, I did get a few requests for Miley Cyrus, one of which was downloaded. I'll download the other later. We actually did get a few good requests: Thriller, YMCA (didn't have it), Respect (didn't have it, played "Freeway of Love"), Love Shack (didn't have it), and Play that Funky Music (didn't have it). I have all those now. There were around 5 requests for slow songs.

We also had this group of belligerant blondes that came up every 5 minutes for requests.
Them: Do you have any modern music?
Me: It's a sockhop.
Them: I don't care!
Me: I'll play what I've got.

Mom was a pain at the dance, and no more will she bug us. She was convinced that they were 1st graders somehow, and she said there wouldn't be many requests for slow songs. She was dead wrong. That didn't stop me, though. After Bon Jovi, I turned on Daft Punk's "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger".

...I own all of those. Lmao. I like older stuff ;) I am shocked and appalled you are adding Miley Cyrus to your repetoire. But I guess you have to cater for everything, at least until you're old enough to get work in clubs... Although Shotz, my bar of choice, plays Party in the USA about five times a night... Eugh. Their DJ is pretty good though. Because it's primarily a pool hall, they can play rock music all night... And Jizz in my pants, which tends to be the "this is a shout-out for ____! Happy 21st/18th/buck's night!" pmsl.

My mum treats kids like they're way younger than they are. My nieces hate it. She talks to them really slowly, and uses words like tummy. In my niece's words "Nanny's weird. Is she drunk?" lmao.

I don't know about the states, but down here, when we have festivals, like the Big Day Out and Soundwave and stuff, we also run competitions and stuff to have local artists perform. Maybe you could check if places in your area do it too? Get noticed a bit more... We've had some pretty massive acts come out from the Lilypad and Unearthed... ;)

My only problem with the PS3 seems to be that I do not have one.

I liked all the videos recently posted to the Free Chat topic. In the one where the guy who could sit anywhere visited the doctor, I was laughing at the anatomy chart on the wall of the examination room. That is funny.

So, Harlequin's mother is not going to join DriverMadness.net, then? Just kindding, man. Yes, good luck to you, Harlequin.

Sorry, I guess film director Tim Burton used the word re-imagining to describe his Planet of the Apes movie, not a re-envisioning, and so do most other people when referring to a movie that is so different from the original that it is not actually a remake.

I am still surprised that some people argued strongly that the original version of Stargate SG-1 episode 01 is better than the version from 2009. I was unable to keep from wondering if there are Star Wars fans who prefer the original versions of the first three movies instead of the special-edition versions that came out later. So, I looked to see. Indeed, there were such fans among those who reviewed the Star Wars DVDs for sale at Amazon.com, and they did their fair share of criticizing each other’s reviews as well as the DVDs. As I read the reviews and comments, I could not help but think to myself, ‘I bet I sound like this much of a jackass when I try to act like a know-it-all at the DriverMadness.net forum.’

Speaking of movies, I went to the movie theater for the first time since 2004 and saw some 3D flick called Avatar. I had forgotten how cool it is to go see a movie at the theater. That seemed like a good movie.

TK, wow, man. That sounds cool. You got fifty bucks for that, too? I am surprised that they were not interested in hearing the oldies songs at the dance since the dance had a '50s theme or whatever. Did anyone dress up? Were there any poodle skirts or scarves in big hair does? That sounds like fun to me. I hope you continue to find some jobs, man. Congratulations again.
