Need For Speed 2015

Need for Speed got its first real teaser image today, depicting a green car with the word "Speedhunters" written on one of its wheels and the caption, "Are you ready for the next chapter?"

Speedhunters is a community of car enthusiasts owned by EA.

Last year, Ghost Games studio head Marcus Nilsson said EA is committing to a "dramatically different" approach to the Need for Speed series. Part of that means engaging in "more open conversations" with fans.

How much that has to do with the Speedhunters community, or if the community is even involved at all, hasn't been confirmed. At this point, several fans are speculating that this is Need for Speed Underground 3.

I'm looking forward to this.
But Project Cars should keep me pretty busy :specialdriver:

Hopefully with the extra development time they can bring us something special this time around.

Rivals and MW (2012) where pretty big let downs to the series.

Teaser Trailer just released. Full trailer on June 15th!

Trailer consists of in-game footage.

It also mentions
Game engine footage representative of all platforms
hopefully that means it's representative of the lowest performing console probably xbox one.
I hope we can see more glory in the PC release :D

The new NFS game will feature deep customisation, authentic urban car culture, a nocturnal open world, and an immersive narrative that pulls you through the game.

So in other words, it's a modern NFS Underground, but with a focus on drift culture instead of the early to mid 2000's ricer culture.

That's why they are "fully rebooting it".

Every person would have a different point of view and for me it died pretty much after Most Wanted (2005), they started to recycle stuff like COD because they probably thought this gonna sell but it was the way around. Since 2010 imo they started to restore the standing of the brand by bringing back games like Hot Pursuit or Most Wanted (which sold pretty good).

In my opinion NFS series had their own eras.

1994-2002: Exotic cars and chases. (i played a lot NFS II, NFS III and NFS IV)
2003-2008: Customization and car chases. (it had their high and low moments, my favorite probably is Most Wanted)
2009-Present: Trying to bring back their pride. (can't judge this since i barely played any NFS since Undercover)

If all they're going to advertise is CGI, then I'm not interested. Or wait, were those last few screenshots the actual game? If they had an Nvidia Titan X then I would say it is possible that was it...

We probably won't be seeing any actual gameplay until E3, so all this can be labeled as hype material and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Hate to tell you, but the highlighted area isn't even triangular. You should've highlighted the quarter window, where the "180SX" badge is.

That's the point, to be stupid and redicilous. These jokes are always nonsensical and stupid.

Trailer is in-game (according to what is written at the end), but I guess the images look CGI-ish...

There is usually less to the environments in NFS games and they can get away with using graphical tricks. So it should look better than many other games.

NFS Rivals looked pretty good on my PC. But there is very little to the environment.

The camera movement while drifting is super gay.

Otherwise, seems not too bad so far. But I'd prefer more racing that crappy storyline and cutscenes.

I agree. I hated the camera movement. But from what I read that it is optional.

Being a PC gamer, games are no longer stored/ran on disks and hard drive/internet data is a very precious commodity.
I hate how it's wasted by pre-rendered cut-scenes when the consoles can these days render an acceptable quality and it keeps the continuity flowing.

The very bad new is this game is online only type, no offline gameplay, DRM stuff eating the gaming scene, the camera is sh*t, but they promised there is five options to that.
