Hey, that was cool, man. Thank you for the video, Old Gamer. I like that track, especially with the cops after me. I made a video on this track, but never posted it anywhere. In one part it shows my car jumping over the cops. You know how you can do that by taking the loading docks and elevated sidewalks alongside the road or whatever?

[EDIT: Sep. 04, 2010] Please disregard the following hyperlink to the playlist at DailyMotion.com and see the end of this post to view the same videos at YouTube.com with better quality and no advertisements.

That is my NFS:HS playlist at some video website, man. I do not particularly care for that website, but for the moment that is where my videos are. I will move them to a different website later - one that does not have advertising interfering with the viewing experience. I have to have more than ten minutes for some of my videos though.

In the first video where it is snowing, I wanted to cut down the length of the video by removing several laps and inserting a clip to join the two remaining segments (with the dreamlike sequence in the tunnel). At the time I did not know you could select 'mirror' and the reversed track would then look correct again instead of backwards. Oh, well. Better luck next time, right? The songs all came from the game, and some of them I cut up into little bits and remixed to match what happens in the videos.

Thanks again for that video, Old Gamer. Got any more of those then? I love that LEGO DRIVER video. Are you going to make that longer with the rest of the checklist maneuvers then?

Oh, hey, I just ordered that NFS Porshe Unleashed game from some place called eBay.com. GT Legends is on my PC now, too. I also just receieved delivery of a Logitech G27. Here is what it looks like: G27 at NewEgg.com Until now I have only used a gamepad.

Playing racing simulators seems like the next logical step in gaming for me, since I already like combat flight simulators, mecha simulators, and armor simulators. Driving simulators makes sense. So far, it seems that I only really like the racing games that have an in-car camera while you are driving and telecast-style camera views during the replay.

[EDIT: Sep. 04, 2010] NFS: High Stakes vIdeos now uploaded to YouTube.com

View as a playlist at YouTube.com

You may want to lower your volume first because these sound really loud when I try to play them.

Thanks for that long post, Miller!

Yeah, as for the LEGO Driver video, I`ve did a new version of it, as I`ll show it in a LEGO exhibition within a week. I`ll post it lately here

As, for that Driver car, I did a mod, which enables you to drive another cars from driver, too. Same mod I`m making and for MM2 (Midtown Madness 2).

And as for High Stakes, it`s just one of the best racing games ever. I`m currently making a website special for classic racing games, like Midtown Madness, Viper Racing, Test Drive, Driver, etc. as I`m working on it.
Porsche Unleashed is cool, too I`m still having the it in original, as I`ve buyed it back in 2003

Also I`ve ripped all the soundtracks from High Stakes (from the PSX Version) 8)

Hey, man, I am glad you are still not giving up on your racing website after previous difficulties reported by you here at DriverMadness.net. Good luck to you with that, Old Gamer.

When I was reading reviews before purchasing NFS: High Stakes, I read that the PlayStation version of the game does not include a 'cockpit' view (dashcam, in-car, whatever). Is that true, you guys?

When I made my NFS: High Stakes videos using the PC version of the game, it was a rather time-consuming process. You cannot change camera views without the user interface popping up, and even then you have to cycle through cameras. So what I did was record each race like five or six times, with each recording being of the entire race in only one camera view. Then I edited a new video in Windows Movie Maker, taking the camera angle at any given moment from the video that showed the best view. The result: A nice video with best camera angles and no graphic user interface on the screen. It is a lot of work, but it looks good in the end.

YouTube.com has increased the maximum time duration for videos submitted by new users up to 15 minutes. Goodbye to DailyMotion.com. I am moving to YouTube.com. Man, I noticed that their 10-minute limit actually allowed anything less than 11 minutes. I hope that is true for the the 15-minute thing as well because Las Vegas Jump Run is 15:32. Man, that would be cool to show that video all in one piece at YouTube.com. Now I just have to figure out how to upload a video file that looks decent.

If it is all right with you, Old Gamer, can I embed my NFS: High Stakes videos to your topic here after I upload the videos to YouTube.com?

I think gameplay videos are an important part of what we do at DriverMadness.net. I am always pleased to see when DMC members are participating in that sort of endeavor. And with a game series like DRIVER, we have been given games that make doing that a really exciting and rewarding experience. With its excellent camera system, NFS: High Stakes also has a lot to offer in this regard.

Well, in some way, the PSX and PC version of High Stakes are not the same (as usual). PC`s has better graphics, good 3D engine, etc, but meanwhile, PSX version uses the same engine as Porsche Unleashed. Dash view, is not included in it. But, of course, cars ARE A LOT BETTER. I`ve been recreating the PSX cars for a while (check my account on NFSCars here, and non-approved Driver car and TVR Cerbera (DAMN IT, LAZY MODS!)), and a PSX vs. PC version discussion here (I`m known as Nikku here).

As for DailyMotion videos, i`m not sure. we need our admin, to make a .js button for videos. And on Youtube, sometime, you can upload an 1hour video on a low quality mp4 video (maybe).

Then, for the videos, is better to use Adobe Premiere. I`m still using the old 2.0 version see the video above), but goes good work, even for a stop-motion animations

I am learning to use something I bought called Sony Vegas. This is what I will be using to upload future videos to YouTube.com, I guess.

I am also still trying to do as much as possible in Windows Movie Maker for the sake of providing reliable advice in the Driver 2 Video Workshop at DriverMadness.net, where the purpose is to inform newbies to video creation (like me) about how to make pretty cool Driver 2 videos for free. The one exception to that so far is Fraps. I know Fraps is free for some of the DMC members, but that topic is also about doing this legally.

Yeah, I know, the Driver 2 Video Workshop is like the blind leading the blind. LOL

It looks like there are a lot more custom car mods for NFS:HS than there are for NFS:PU.

Thank you for the replies and the hyperlinks, Old Gamer. Good talking with you, man. By the way, when I first started watching your video in this thread, I thought it was a DRIVER video. Nice cop cars, man. That looks way cool, to be sure.

Quoted for truth. Same as the game is full of Porsche`s (although it`s my fav brand), but you can use a .crp filter for Zmodeler, and then to make your own cars, but it`s too hard, cause one car has... um.. a lot of parts. E.G a separate part for the body, wheelhubs, wheels, wheel shadows, glasses, driver`s helmet, head, body, leg, umm.. that part  and many damage parts :?

PS
I saw you`re a mod now, Miller. Good for you!

Thank you, man.

You know what would be cool? it would be cool if some genius could modify NFS: High Stakes so that the suspect target boxes did not show up in the replays. Star Wars X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter games, including X-Wing Alliance, have that same unfortunate problem with the targeting boxes showing up in the replays. Those games also have a replay recorder system with excellent camera controls. Someone said it had not been done because that is hard coded into the .exe file (or something like that). I guess it is that way in the NFS: High Stakes game also. Too bad, is it not? The replays would look much better without that suspect target box in the picture.

Umm, yeah man. I suppose you`re right. I`d noticed that, too, but in the PSX version this red-green box targeting dunno appear

Anyway, I`m currently working hard on Racing Madness. Everyone can visit it from here. As I`m currently writing HTML game pages for Driver and A2 Racer (Web Archive, duh).

In answer to your query in the DRIVER 2 Video Workshop, Old Gamer, I learned of your mods here from you last week. There is certainly no shortage of stuff on the World Wide Web to look at and download, but I take a special interest in looking at the things made by members of the DMC.

I downloaded all of your cars, man. I have not tried any of them in the game yet, but NFS: High Stakes is installed on my PC, so I will be trying your cars whenever I have a few minutes here or there to put one or two in and drive them around and watch the replays. I still have not even checked out the G27 yet. NFS: Porsche Unleashed has arrived in the mail now, btw.

Thank you for telling us about your cars, and for the video you posted of NFS:High Stakes. Good luck with the LEGO thing and the racing website.

Thanks Miller. As I`m a modeler & convertor for a long time, I know a good car, is good when it`s completed. So far many of them aren`t like the PSX Versions of them.

But in some way, the PSX cars needs to be completed, but one thing is the remaining part of them.. the original 3D meshes. Yes, they are accessable, but! They need a import tool or plugin for any program like ZModeler or Milkshape 3D, just like the Driver cars in .dmodel, but they`re in .geo file.

I`ve contacted SOAP about that idea, but didn`t received any answer from him. :?
Also this question remains in popular sites like NFSCars and NFS Police HQ of which I`m member, too. It`s possible when SOAP did make possible opening these 11yrs old history cars (never opened!), it`s possible Driver Madness to became more popular, same as bringing back Driver`s popularity (in every Driver to another game, I`d included SOAP`s and Someone`s names in the credits and a link to Driver Madness, too.

After all, I`m inviting everyone, from the world, who can do anything with that .geo format for PSX NFS, to write back here. A lot of thanks in advance. There are the samples of geo files - link.
All the best
Nick

Do you have any idea what happened to the Police Garage? I know the site got shut down but why?

I used to get police cars for GTA SA & NFS HS from there, IIRC.

Police Garage is online back from July. Here`s the site - Police H.Q.

It`s called NFS Police HQ now, but I`m not that impressed of it`s look now. Police Garage has better look and graphic design :?
