I like gangster games! What do you think about this game? Do you know something about a sequel?

Yeh, and this is also a great game I played a fair bit a while ago.
It's got a bit of a sad ending though. Well it can be a good ending but it really depends how you see it. This is all i'll say so I don't ruin the storyline for anyone.
Although this game is quite realistic and the map changed over time in the storyline a little like Parallel Lines expect it shows you every 2 years in the game and you can see improvments in roadwork and things like that too.
Still the cars are very slow like they were in the 1940's which kinda made the game boring after I finished storymode.
But still a quality game.

There are some fast cars in Mafia. They'r so fast that you can't steer them (hidden cars not on street) There are tons of cars on the net. Mafia is a Modable game. To bad that Driv3r ain't like that.

Maybe it will be!!! I hope

Yeh, there is that mission were you race that very fast vehicle, and when I raced it it took me a few shots to get used to it.
Then I patched the game after I finished that mission and their was a patch to fix up that mission which I passed easily.
Anyways, I have modifyed that game a few times, although i haven't spent much time doing it though.

Well all the cars form the game where changed when I finished. There was no old car left when I deleted the game.

Is this the first Mafia? I own a Mafia but i dont know how many Mafia series they made.
BTW it was my anti-GTA, when i played GTA i got addicted only to GTA, then i played Mafia and i got addicted only to Mafia, then back to GTA and then back to Mafia, NEVER together, or i wouldnt enjoy them.
Mafia is an awesome game to be an "old" one, driving was quite realistic (GTA isnt), and i LOVE Mafia's story (maybe because i am Italian....ewwwww).

That was real cheap. I would like some cheap games like that. Can somebody sell me some cheap games and send them to me?

I think your best bet is ebay.com there appear to be lots of items there for cheap but it can be slightly rishy. I purchased this at a store and that was the cheapest quality game I've ever purchased except the origional Driver carried the same price.

Thanks for the hint. In the intro from Mafia you can see boats on the river
but you can't drive them in the game.

I guess it's pretty hard to programm everything in the game to work.
Just the cars are enough

Yeah, Mafia definately rocks! It's better than GTA IMO, it's more detailed, it has almost the same amount of cars, there are big cities + countries availables and a bunch of very cool weapons, you can do less stuff than GTA but i still believe it's much better than GTA, I highly recomend it!

It has more cars than all the 3 GTAs put togather.

Umm... are you sure it has that many. I thought it had around about 150 different vehicles and that's just GTA3 and half of GTA:VC.

ok well I exagerated what I mean is that it is bater than GTA.

yeh, it does feel alot more realistic and it has a storyline which sticks to the storyline alot more than GTA. GTA is all over the place and you never know what to goal at the end of the game is ment to be.
Also like some driver games it had a weird end to the story.
Which I won't spoil.

Now I play True Crime: New York City and I like that game. It plays in New York. The city is huge and it's only Manhaten. And you can play as a cop. You can be good cop or bad cop I like that.

Thanks for the heads up on True Crime:NYC.
I can't seem to get Mafia off my PC. It's been there for years, and just won't go away. [That's not a request for support.]
If you like to drive and shoot out the window with passengers in your car who roll down their windows and blast enemies with Thompson SMGs or other weapons...if you like polished cutscenes and excellent game graphics...if you like using mods that make a great game even better...if you like a game designed to make it feel like you're starring in an old gangster movie, then play Mafia. Oh, yah, if you like to run people over and blow them up and walk up and blow their brains out or stab them or beat them to death with a baseball bat—if you like that, too…well you know the rest.
And if you like being chased and rammed by a bunch of hot babes in evening gowns cruising a sharp rod, get a mod and be sorry you messed with them, but glad you tried. [I think the sniper rifle is the best way to deal with those farm boys that come after you driving agriculture tractors…that’s in a mod, not the stock game]
Soon the CoLD Mod will have a new version, 2.0 released. Here are my favorite Mafia Websites. Lots of mods, videos, links, tech support, and discussion to check out.
Mafia Mods.org
Mafia Scene.com
My attempts to create links to MafiaMods.org and MafiaScene.com have failed, but those websites are easy enough to find, using Google or whatever search engine you prefer. Both are indespensible sources of Mafia stuff, though. So are these two websites:
CoLD MOD Forums
Mafia World
However, if you like multiplayer action, forget it. Some dudes were trying to exploit the Mafia game engine's MP capabilities, but I think they gave up, as did the guys trying to create a Mafia mod for BF1942, but I think there will be some 1920's-1930's era MP mod activity that produces results available for BF2 or BF2042.
Like I said, I play mostly WWII video games for PC. Illusions Softworks developed Mafia. It was built, I think, using a modified version of their Hidden & Dangerous II game engine, a WWII FPS title that offers cooperative game play during missions. But there is no MP in Mafia. Lots of us do what we can to let the developer and the publisher of Mafia know we’d really like to see a sequel, one that includes co-op mode and MP. We also do what we can to let those who want such a sequel to take place in some more modern time period know that they can go jump in the lake.
I don’t keep up with whether or not Mafia 2 will happen, as it’s been for years a case of Mafia 2 confirmed, then Mafia 2 canned, etc, then Mafia 2 confirmed again, and so on. There are bits about it from time to time, such as this article that had mentioned it.

I was over at the website for First Strike (Star Wars total conversion for BF2142), and there was a plug for a Mafia Multiplayer website. This one seems legitimate, too. And they talk like they are going to see it through. Good luck to them, to be sure.
Here are what seem to me to be safe links to what MADKILLA is working on. He offers a video of progress with synchronizing vehicles for MP action. Pretty cool.
forums at Mafia-MP.com
Mafia-MP.com
I wonder if that’s what Madness was talking about by making it so we can launch Driver videos hosted by Google/ YouTube/ (or whatever the h***) directly from these forums at the Driver Madness website. I just looked through this entire website, albeit at a glance so far—btw, this does look like a nice place, boss—and didn’t see something like that yet operational, so if it’s already here and I sound more like a dumba** than usual, sorry.
I’ll tell you what I think might be just as cool as Mafia TDM style gameplay. That would be a cooperative mode with even just two dudes synched in Free Ride, so you could cruise around together doing the same thing one guy can do in Free Ride with the stock game. You know, like with all the pedestrians, traffic, and gangsters, which I assume would be absent in from Lost Heaven in a TDM setting.
I guess a lot of dudes have attempted to bring the game engine's MP attributes to a functional state, but many failed. I don't know if this is the best hope or anything like that, or even if this MADKILLA dude can ultimately succeed.

I'm just taking a look at the site now and multi-player looks so great! Unfortunately I'm not connected to the internet that often so I won't be able to play online but if it has LAN functionality that would be great! Then I could take it to LAN parties and play it with others
I also hope we see a Mafia 2, Mafia was a great game and I hope to see something slightly with more eras. Like in mafia I think we had something like the 20s the 30s and the 40s. It would be nice to go from the 30s or 40s to the 80s or something similar.
