Driver Madness

I have spent half of today working on fixing up the camera system. The camera now acts similar to a chase cam in most games (even though this one is top down). I managed to get it to be smooth as well. And the best part of all. I made the game widescreen and increased vertical view by offsetting the car. The car is no longer in the center of the screen, it is between the center and the bottom now (you can still see cars when they are chasing you if they are close). Gameplay wise, it took me about 5 minutes to get used to it, then it was just as good if not better than the old camera system.

DEMO
To use this demo, make sure you have downloaded the most recent version of the Beta, then place the camera_demo.exe into the folder of the beta.
NOTE: Undercover and many other features have been disabled in this demo. The purpose of this demo is just to show the camera system. Stick to Quick Getaway and Take a RIde.

The new camera is great! Love that car sound, too! That is from the Bullitt movie, isn't it? I remember downloading a demo, or whatever, of this game awhile ago. Can't wait till this game is finished!

Hey I just played Driver Russia, I thought it was awesome! The cut scenes didn't look professional, but who cares, it's all together! I die almost immediately when playing the game xD
