Has anyone ever played Driver 1 on the slimline ps2? For some reason, the game will crash, especially when the screen is busy. It also happens automatically on the mission "The Maddox Hit". I tried two different copies of the game and the same thing happens. Also, sometimes my cars textures are replaced by film director icons.

Backward compatibility is to blame. I also had issues (texture corruption and alot of lag). Any ps3 with BC for PS1 games will run Driver perfectly. I had started a similar thread a while back.

PS2 had the worst backwards compatibility imaginable. You might as well just download a PSX emulator for PC. That's what I did.

I tried getting an emulator once. Wouldn't work cause of some dll file. Guess I'll stick to my gameboy color version of Driver.

I prefer using PSXFin, you need the BIOS and possibly a DLL file. You have to get the BIOS and DLL separately, however.

You can also get Driver on the PlayStation Store if you have a European account.
