Driver Madness

Driver Madness Forums are finally back!
I've removed everything that could possibly cause any problems. So hopefully we'll have a trouble free future.

As you can see we have a slightly new design and simplified site, many features are missing and the forums still might be recovering from a bit of a cold.

If you notice any problems feel free to report them in this thread!

and a side note; DriverWiki is even closer!
I'll also be sending out e-mail to all the members here so they know about the new link to access this forum. I'll also update some of the other pages of this site so they link to this forum.

Finally !! OMG I'm so happy, but I'm still missing the old forum .

I missed these forums!

My only real problem is the list of topics that have had replies to since i last visited is gone. I liked that feature. Any chance of getting that back, or if it is on here why i cant use it?

You still have this option, at the top, at the right : View posts since last visit.

But I would like madness to change the forum system and get the old one back ( the phpBB 2 + ) .

yeah, bring back the old style. i liked it...

Unfortuantly something on the old forum was stoping the entire site from working, now I've got it working. I've decided to leave it the way it is.

I don't want to add too many features because they raises any chances of the forum gaining problems in the future.

However if there are any features you really like in the previous version of the forum, I can add these features back if people really want to see them again.

This could be "New Posts" feature, so you don't have to look through all the forums for new topics posts.

I miss the downloads page...
And do you atleast have the name of the old style?

Downloads will be added to the DriverWiki in the coming months, it something else which should take quite sometime.

I achually have to program a complete system from scratch and things like that can take a while If I want to include the features I'm planning.

For now I may port the old download base to a pre-created script, if it's in any great need.

I'll add it to me todo list.
and when I find time I'll do it!
Unfortuatly these days I don't have much time so you'll always proably have to bare with me. My holidays have finished and I feel I've barly achieved fairly little, which is unfortuante.

Isn't there's a way to help you? We're here to help in something. Fixing something, a new layout, etcetera, etcetera and etcetera?

Hello Miller,

These strange looking symbols were caused from moving the websites database, I think there is a way of automatically fixing up these errors. But I'm not quite sure. I'll quickly look into it.

All these symbols should be replacing ' symbols.

Feel free to fix them up if you wish!
But I'll do my best to fix all these strange symbols occurring all over the forums.

EDIT: It looks a little harder to repair than I thought.
I'm still looking into the issue, but if you want feel free to fix up the issues.
If it's a big job, you may as well wait and see what I can do. But if you have them as documents on your computer you may was well copy and paste them.

i think madness needs to come up with a new slogan, i like this one its just getting a bit old

Yeah, I made it up like 4-5 years ago for another ancient website which no longer exists.

Has been used on driver madness ever since the beginging back at the start of 2006, almost three years ago.

So it's been hanging around for quite sometime now
I achually keep on thinking it sounds pretty stupid and should proably remove it.

maybe you should create a new name and logo designs?

Maybe you could have a contest to let people submit ideas for a new slogan.
