for example it say that there is 48 new posts. i looked at all of them but it still says 48 new posts. is there way to reset it?

It's everytime you log-in that it resets.

If you are using auto-login you actually have to shut the browser not just hte tab. At least thats what ive found.

Yep, that's right.

If you want to reset it I suggest you log in and you log out!
Making sure you press the log out button, and that should reset it.

The other tactics others use should really reset it all the time.

it will automaticly update itself whenever there is a new post, however you have to log out to get it to be reset to "0".
