I'm pretty happy that Atrai sold off the Driver Series to a better publisher. There is one QUOTE particular which is gonna want me to never buy an Atari game again.

Yesterday Atari annoucned
"that the Driv3r franchise was nothing more than "a half-baked product that was pushed out the door for revenue reasons."

After seeing that quoted I was quite angry, DRIV3R could have been much more of a game if atari never forced the reflections team to throw DRIV3R out the door before it's even completed.

I think to myself, how much better would/could have DRIV3R been if the Reflections Team even got enough time to get some time to beta test the game. If they got some time to fix the game up they mostble would have been able to remove most of the glitchs which we noticed in the game which annoyed us all.

Think about it, with extra time DRIV3R could have been one of the best DRIVING games around.

Please feel free to leave any comments/posts about this.

Reflections is the company producing all the work, CREATING DRIVER.
Atari was only ever a publisher and was the company which funded Reflections. Now ataris role has been moved over to UBISOFT and UBISOFT are commonly known to do better than atari although there a quite group, since there not as well known as Atari.

This was posted a couple of hours ago on games ultra.
A interview with Midway, talking about The Wheelman (Game).
Games Ultra wrote: I always think about Driv3r, when it came out, and every review said, "Why do I stop dead when I hit a light post?" If they'd just had some people play it, and listen to them complain about that, it wouldn't have been like that.
Midway wrote: PP: Yes -- but it also depends on your publishing partner, because I've worked on games in the past that weren't as good as they should have been, and that is mostly because there wasn't enough development time on the project.

Pretty much always, the people who worked on the game know what the major issues are; they just don't have the time to fix them. Midway has been really good with going, "OK, you are making a really good game -- we want it to be great. We're going to give you more time." They want to release quality games.
It certainly shines the spotlight straight back into Atari's faces.
and I'm sitting here saying, "YAY! Ubisoft".
I'm sure they will do a better job than Midway.
We need more development time, for a better driver game :)

This reinstates my happiness that Ubisoft acquired the franchise.

Midway made LA RUSH and in my opinion, that is an excellent driving game. I'm sure that it would be just as good as a ubisoft game except for the storyline. I'm sure the storyline would not be as good as D1 or D2 storylines.
