Driver Fades out of Atari's hands (The BAD News)

Earlier this week Atari closed down their forums for Driver, Driver 2 and Driver 3 due to the purchase of the franchise by UBISOFT.

On the 1st of November 2006. Atari closed their forums and all the driver forums except for the "Driver: Parallel Lines" forum has been locked and has been given "Read Only" attributes, meaning users can now only view the posted threads and topics. So what does this mean for all the driver fans, no official forum to hand around. UBISOFT is also yet to add a Driver section to their forums. I welcome you to settle in here and your still able to chat in the "Parallel Lines" forum on the Atari Forums but they will also be due to close early next year when UBISOFT completly owns the driver franchise.

This is very sad  news for users like me who have also created 1000+ topics/posts all about driver just waiting for them all the be locked, which isn't a happy thing.

So where to now?, you might be thinking.

Well you have 5 options if you wish to continue chatting on forums about DRIVER

Atari "Driver: Parallel Lines Forums"
The "Driver: Parallel Lines" Forums will be left on the Atari Community for a small amount of time. This forum is expected to close early next year.

Join these forums
You can always register here and join our growing community.
If there is something you don't like about this community tell me and I'll make this a better community for all of us. You can contact me via. PM, Email and/or Instant Messengers like MSN, MSN is also my primary IM.

Wait for UBISOFT to add a driver forum
You can wait for UBISOFT to add a Driver Forum although you may have to wait until the release of Driver: 5 which is expected in late 2007 - early 2008. And their will only be a 1 driver forum as far as I know, but we may be suprised.

Find another community
There are also mini communities everywhere, check out GameSpot and sites like that, there are also many driver fansites out there which also have many forums on their, I've looked around and most of them are French.

Cry
If you don't want to move away from the Atari Forums the only thing you can do is  and I'm not sure where that's going to get you.

[hr]

Something else to cry about

I've noticed that the offical DRIV3R sites have disapeared

I was working on copying them and uploading them to this website but I never got to downloading all the content and the screensavers and some of the main pages. If only I had another month to copy them I would have finished and I would have uploaded them to this server.

If you have a copy of the Official DRIV3R Site please contact me so we can transfer the files onto this server.

NEW! UPDATE: Atari has now stoped supporting Driver: Parallel Lines, so UBISOFT now completly own the franchise.

Well there is an number/letter thing you have to copy to verfiy your not a computer so that should make that harder, i'm not sure how it's getting around that :(.

But i'm pretty quick at deleting those posts and i'll soon see if i can make anymore upgrades to fix this annoying problem.

It could be to, but I have no idea why they would waste there time here when there are many other popular forums which are way more popular and they don't get attacked so why here :S

mabye the bigger forums have better systems/report their ip address.

hmm... not quite sure about all of that, but the systems are just about the same. And the people who do this use proxyies to change their ip addresses.

Everytime i block an ip address they just obtain another one :S

I guess it's popular under pageviews but not under posters and members.
Hmm... Maybe i shouldn't say that or we will get more spammers here :S
