I probably should've posted this in SOAP's thread, but his was an entirely different subject regarding the files. Here, I've taken screenshots of the dates of the levels on each disc -

If an image is cut off for you, just click the image.

Here's a quick explanation of what they mean:

/LEVELS - The single-player day time levels.
/NLEVELS - The single-player night time levels.
/MLEVELS - The multiplayer daytime levels.
/MNLEVELS - The multiplayer night time levels.

D1 = Disc 1
D2 = Disc 2

.LEV = Level file
.LCF = Stores wheel positions, acceleration, traction etc for each car. (Thanks to gamersin for the info!)
.DEN = Denting data (similar to Driver 1)

The rest of it is self-explanatory.

The LCF files store wheel positions, acceleration, traction etc for each car. :) I've hex edited an LCF file and all of the cars went bonkers :D

Ok, nice, CL, but what's the deal with it?

It just shows the dates of the levels on each disc. We play Las Vegas and Rio on Disc 2, but they exist on both discs. Las Vegas on Disc 1 is newer than LV on Disc 2, same for Rio. Then of course, Chicago and Havana on Disc 2 are older than the ones on Disc 1. It just makes me wonder what kind of beta content is in there, lol.

If you think about it, we have 2 discs because of the FMVs. Those are the biggest files on the disc, lol. The levels are only 10,660kb each! That's NOTHING!

I don't mean to worry you, but I think that there wouldn't be big differences - the differences of dates are just few days, about 20... I don't think, that they could make major changes in these files in such short time.

But nothing major, I don't think.
