Me being the stubborn person I am, always playing on the original hardware, I decided to burn myself a copy of the rom hack thankfully created by SOAP, Using the old ghetto disc swap trick, I got it working. Since this is a PAL game it doesn't have color on an NTSC slim ps1, also the pause menu doesn't work.

EDIT: Yeah I apologize. My TV was the cause of the gray color palette, it's all good though...

It's called using common sense, when someone follows another around so closely and so frequently, you can assume they have some sort of special relationship.
