The Rover SD1 has received an update!
I've completely changed the textures of the car, and it now comes in 5 colors: black, dark blue, brown, white and yellow.
I'm also going to provide a Photoshop document so can make your own recolors for the car!
Here's a bunch of screens showing the color schemes I made:
Black:
Blue:
Brown:
(For some reason the last two colors are much darker in-game so they're hard to tell apart)
White:
Yellow:
Replaces PLAYERCAR2.

Suggestions/Requests/Ideas are much appreciated, so feel free to request something!

Why UK spec in USA? They made a US spec SD1 , only about 1100 got imported into the US. This should've replaced the Newcastle Jaguar, whatever PLAYERCAR model that is.

Now that's cool. What made you to make a SD1 though? Moreover, an UK-spec for Driver?? Doesn't fit Driver at all, despite I absolutely love SD1's.. Also, texture and UV mapping could have some more work

Ever since I played The Getaway on the PS2 I had a fetish for British cars, especially Rovers. Actually, I might extract the textures from that game and use them on the car (the textures of the SD1 also have a 256x256 resolution). That way I can also make multiple colors

I only managed to find decent images of a UK spec, and putting it in tiny Newcastle wouldn't do it justice.

Well, in other words I started to like them. A lot. Right now I'm working on better textures for the car, I'll see to updating soon!

If only we had some expert hackers here, they'd know how to mode PS1 Driver... if only...
Nice models, though!

How the hell are you exceeding the annoying vertex limit? I'm getting infinite problems even with 10 polygons... Are you not using DCI?

Did you ever used the vertex patch?

Most users that roam this forum are oh so helpful that I never was able to find the vertex patch. Aside from sarcasm, I know for a fact that you're a helpful guy, do you happen to know where I could find the vertex patch?

In DCI, after you have opened the lev file, click on the "Driver" tab, and "install vertex patch".

Since you are experts in modding, could someone please help me to solve my problem?
Its this:
"Driver Level Editor Unable to create temporary file"
Did any one of you face this issue when using DLE?
i have tried to import other cars, but every time i ended up by this message: "Driver Level Editor Unable to create temporary file"
Also I am running it as an administrator. I also tried to copy the levels folder to other place. But still facing the same issue.

here my problem by details:
First, i took the level file to the desktop, then I run the DLE as an administrator,
then, i opened the lev and d3d as shown below:
then, I import a car ..
then, I choose Save As:
I press "Save Selected":
then the 2 errors comes out as below:

Sadly, I don't know the solution to you problem, as I use an older version of the tool, called "Driver Car Importer Current R4"
Try downloading that version and see if it works for you.

Well i tried and i get the same errors. So i believe all the features haven't been implemented yet, or are not working as expected. But i could be wrong also. It's better to use the latest working release i think.

Oh, man! How long has it been? A year?
Thing is, after quite a hiatus, I'm afraid to say that all of my work so far (well, apart from the two cars I uploaded) has been lost!
Unfortunately, I had to re-install my entire operating system (curse you, faulty drivers!) and thus lost all of my progress.
I eventually re-installed Driver on my new system install, and I'm back!
So, may I present my latest creation:
Now, this car does have an issue to note, and that is the fact that the rear wheels... are a little bit off. But due to the limitations of not being able to edit the wheelbase, I'm afraid there isn't anything I can do. I tried my best, though!
Another thing to note is that I made a damage model for this car:
However, I'm not exactly sure how to implement it and make the game use it (or if that's even possible), so if anyone can inform me on that, feel free! I'll include it in the download as well.
