What could Driv3r have been if they had time?

Hi All

I'm curious, is there any beta/alpha versions of Driv3r, or info hidden in files that show some features possibly cut from the game?

I've recently come back to the Driver series and always felt like Driv3r was fun, but did always feel rushed and half-done - and the Driv3rgate scandal shows that was true.

Things like split screen multiplayer, only 3 cities instead of 4, etc - Did they originally plan multiplayer? Did they originally plan 4 cities?

I'm curious! :)

- According to interviews, they thought about multiplayer (i wouldn't say it was "planned" tho').

- There are some cut missions, cut audio (thanks to audiose we can hear them)

- According to iguide footage, the district you were in was meant to show up like in GTA.

- Mortain Mall could have featured more shops :
and there were supposed to have supermarket carts in there according to textures.

Maybe more :P

Jones' narration over half the FMVs clearly wasn't supposed to be there. I reckon there was a heap that didn't make the final product too.

If they had developed it so it reached the size of GTASA (a bit over 4 GB) with many things added that are featured in SA or are better and all existing remained and obviously if they had fixed all annoying bugs it could be almost on par with GTA San Andreas

If you remove all audio from GTA San Andreas, the rest of its files amount to just 1 GB. Quantity does not equal quality, ever. Unfortunately Infogrames did try and directly compete with GTA and that's why Driver 3 is a f***ing mess.

EDIT: I seriously cannot believe people still prattle on about "not enough disk space" or that a large download means a lot of content. IIRC Resident Evil HD remaster is a 60 GB download on PC, but it came on two tiny Gamecube discs originally, max. 3GB of data. Still trying to work that one out.
