Well, I'll only base my opinion on Driv3r and DPL since Driver 2's on-foot segments were an afterthought. So let's see, Driv3r's got swimming and jumping (there flawed though) while DPL does not. DPL's auto lock on is great but D3's manual aiming is good too. Both Tanner and TK have problems when running...

In the end, DPL get's my vote. I mean in Driv3r, if you watch Tanner run in Film Director, it scares you because of how unnatural it looks. (Especially when he strafes) TK may have more simplified walking/running commands but at least there more polished and refined and more importantly, there controlled within the environment. (but only to a degree) The thing that wins it for TK though is his mullet physics.

totaly agree you moonchild, you said the words that i can't say because of my english
WTF Mate? you speak better english than some people here who have it as a first language. But yes Tanners running is horrible but you cant award this to a guy just cause his mullet moves in the wind for god sake. But yeah TK did walk better. but thats no substitute for being an arse.

Oh crap, I didn't realize that this topic was in the wishlist section. (I thought it was a poll style question comparing D3's and DPL's on-foot gameplay)

Yes, I want better on-foot controls. Hopefully the jump button will return. There doesn't need to be a sprint button but I want to see a few hand-to-hand combos. Swimming and other non-related driving things aren't necessary but they woudn't hurt.

I liked the first-person gun view in Driv3r so I hope that returns same thing with the lock-on feature from DPL so the game has some variety. Shooting out of your car is a must.

In think if it wouldn't be possible to get out of the car the player would spend more time in his car, have more fun and be better, so in the future he'll make less accidents and he'll not need to change his car.
Just look at Driver 1. I would say it's the best Driver from the series an you can't go out of the car. Getting out of the car, like in Driver 2 is okay. But if you can get out, they'll be guns of course. And the guns make it to a GTA-like game. Other thing is the shoot-out-of-the-window-thing. It's cool but most of the people take their machine guns, fire on the car wich they has to stop, and the mission is over. Instead of doing it like in the previous Drivers: with the car ! Of course you can in DPL detsruct the car of the guy you have to stop with your own car, but, and I already sad it, people will use the guns …

Actually in the rescue Dubious mission in D3 i dont shoot the car out of the window with that vauban guy. If you have good timing, intead of getting in your car, you can actually run across the path of the other car and when it hits you, you'll land on its roof. From that point yes i shot it up. But i try to use pistols wherever i can, because i think they're better than the big guns.
