This isn't gonna be long at all.

Basically, the story is about Tanner and Jones going down to New Orleans to haul a crimelord (think Caine on steroids) in for his dastardly deeds. Not very far in, Tanner runs into (dun dun dunnn) Jericho, and Tanner is forced to work with Jericho in order to get close enough to the crimelord, the Indian, to nab him. If I tell you anymore, it is basically too many spoilers to handle.

Story: 5/5

The story is a perfect Driver story, but with more variables to fit the story in novel format. It's got twists and turns and keeps you on your toes, wondering what could happen next. Will it work out and everything go perfect, or will everything go to sh*t and Tanner lose his support? Well, read the novel and find out, I'm not gonna tell you!

Two things I will say, though: 1) It's more serious than Driver: San Francisco. There's not a lot of laughs here at all. 2) [SPOILERS]The book effectively replaces Driv3r in canon.[SPOILERS]

Writing Style: 4/5
Whoever this mysterious Alex Sharp guy is (I'm thinking a pseudonym just for this novel), his writing style is top-notch. My only complaint is his heavy use of the word "coughed" in reference to a gun firing. It's a bit overdone in the book and I can't stop imagining a guy hacking up a lung near the end of the book.

Overall, 5/5. Excellent book and very worthy piece of the Driver franchise. Pick it up if you haven't already and sit down with it for a day or two.
