Not too sure on the US ratings as in Ireland we use PEGI, or sometimes the UK BBFC classifications.

But I'd prefer it to be either 16+ or 18+ as Driver San Francisco feels more like a child's game, and Driver isn't a childs game, they've all been over 16 or there abouts.

I don't care for it much, as long as it doesn't end up developed for small children (ages 10 and under orso) then I'll would still play it. Did kinda miss the more mature content previous Driver games had opposed to DSF though.

I think they should keep it rated T for teen. If it's teen, they can still make the game have a dark and gritty atmosphere, like in Driver 1-2 but not be over the top violent.

(Did someone really select adults only? This is an action game, not a porno. )

It would open bunch of new possibilites in different areas.
I don't mind mature, but I just don't want it to end up over the top violent. Like in Driver Renegade, if I had a dollar for every time Tanner randomly uttered the word "f**k" I'd be rich. I also don't want it to end up like Grand Theft Auto and have killing pimps and hookers be the main focus.

If it could have the atmosphere of Driv3r, that would be tremendous. :D

Why, shouldn't that be already obvious? Driver is Driver, and should always be Driver, not Grand Theft Auto. :specialdriver:

With the swear words part. L.A. Noire is great for an example. It didn't have swear words every other minute and wasn't that over the top violent except for the crime scenes which would usually be gruesome, which isn't a surprise considering you investigated them, lol.

I just watched some gameplay of Driver: Renegade and to be honest, they handled swearing really well for a Driver game. Just Tanner's voice actor sounds like a complete retard having the way to cheesy/deep voice.

I agree but I disagree with handling swearing well. In some parts I didn't mind it, but during the gameplay, Tanner says stuff like "Frag! Goodbye asshole!", "I'll stop when your dead f**ker", and "f**k me!" a few times. Sometimes it is used so repetitively it gets annoying as hell. Swearing isn't a big deal. But in this game, they used it waaay too much. And it doesn't fit Tanner's personality to say it like that.

I agree with you guys, i agree with putting violence there but not over the top, not gory and stuff like that, Driver to Driver PL violence was great, it was stylish and not gory.

They should keep the violence at driv3r's level. That game didn't need to show us a mangled corpse to convey the gritty dark theme. :)

I suggested Adults Only, surely that's just 18+ which is what Driver Parallel Lines was, and all GTA games are.

As for content, I'd like to have the "style" of Driv3r throughout the game. Though I'd like to see the ability to run over people, and shoot people, which means blood should be included which it wasn't in Driv3r; not sure about DPL.

As for language; curse words should be included, I mean, if the game revolves around the world of crime, it makes sense. Though I wouldn't want it used as much as GTA which seems to just use it for the sake of it.

Almost all games in the US that are rated AO are pornographic. And if it was rated AO, it would be hard to buy. Lots of stores like Walmart, Gamestop, etc., ban AO games from their shelves.

It can still have all the stuff you mentioned at an M rating. Even the higher-end T games can be pretty dark. Also, Driver should stay away from the whole shooting and killing. Unless its shooting while driving or an on-rails section. :)

max.thunder wrote:But here in Europe the rating differ to US, here +18 means Mature and Adults, +12 and +16 means Teen.
Yeah, an 18+ game over here in Europe is quite normal.

I think there should be shooting and killing in the next Driver. It's about an American cop; most of whom have guns I believe so he should be able to use it.

Don't go as far as having chainsaws, rocket launchers etc like in GTA, but handguns and machine guns are fine.

They may not add much to the story, but its the weapons that add to the replay value.

I played Driv3r and DPL for a long time after the missions as you could have fun with it, DSF is in my opinion quite boring once the story is over, as you can't even get out of the car and explore the city further

This is the only type of shooting I want to see in Driver:

There are so many other ways they could add to the replay value though. Driver SF just seemed to miss the opportunities. How about some secret cars, locations, and levels? How about some interactive environments? The game should focus on driving. Sorry if I sound like a dick but this is my honest opinion.
