This film had to be where Reflections got its inspiration for the Driver games. Just watch:

In 1:58-2:20, it reminds the Shopping Mall mission in Driv3r(in the parking)

Tanner is alive and he wants revenge.The story will continue in Moscow (the russians bought the stolen cars).

Reflections got the crash sound from that movie and scene.Saw it before, f***ing grand chase.

Did you also notice they got one of the siren sounds from that movie?

They also got some siren sounds from the movie The Blues Brothers (1980). In the first chase you can clearly here where they looped the siren from.

That maneuver at the end would not work very well if you tried it in the game, I guess. The cops woud just run into your car head on.

It has been a long time since I saw this movie. I do not recall it very well. It seems like this is the one where there is even an interview (audition or whatever) that takes place in a parking garage like in the game, except in the movie the dude trashes the car in the garage.

Let me tell you what was taken directly from the movie. The dark atmosphere as well as the concept. A young guy, who's calm, lonely, but cool, suave and skillful despite his age unlike his competitors. He's in a challenge... Just the way Jericho challenges Tanner, this guy is challenged by that cop. No doubt. The movie has it all.

Yesterday i've seen something curious in TV, i was just changing randomly channels with the remote and then i stopped at this movie. It looks very similar to Driv3r.

Check out the portion of the film between 4:46 - 5:00. And then compare it to Driv3r intro (0:12 - 0:15).

I didn't watch the whole film because it already started minutes before and i didn't want to watch the whole thing without seeing the introduction. Maybe the film has more connections to Driv3r (i'll watch the full movie). It was made in 1978.
