So, a couple years ago while digging around out there in the web, I found these "alternative" names for the soundtracks. Since the traditional appointed tracks received their names in a 'generic way' (Miami Night/Day, New York Night/Day and so on...), I suppose the french titles are the originals song names designed to the tracks.

Take a look at these beauties:

  • 1. Main Title (?) (not sure about that yet) = Funk Of Asphalt (PSX)/Standing On The Edge (PC)
    2. Le Casse = Miami (Day)
    3. Le Grand Nettoyage = Miami (Day Cop)
    4. Tanner rencontre Rufus = Miami (Night)
    5. La fin du Frenchie = Miami (Night Cop)
    6. Le Coup du Casino = San Francisco (Day Cop)
    7. Taxi! = San Francisco (Day)
    8. Cosy à l'Hélico = San Francisco (Night)
    9. Hyde Street Blues = San Francisco (Night Cop)
    10. Le Vol de la Voiture de Flics = Los Angeles Cop
    11. Le Coup de Maddox = Los Angeles
    12. La Poubelle de Luther = New York (Day Cop)
    13. Le Sauvetage = New York (Night Cop)
    14. L'histoire avec Ali = New York (Night)
    15. Le Président = New York (Day)
    16. ??? = Hit That Car!
    17. Délit de Fuite = Hit That Cop Car!
The reason why I couldn't assign the tracks 1 and 16 is because I used the linked playlist to do it. Years ago I downloaded the Driver Soundtrack from a site (don't remember which one) and the tracks were named in this very unusual way. Sadly enough, I don't have these files anymore, but by gogling some of them (the ones I kept in mind), the playlist showed up.

To make things worst, the playlist lacks a 17th song. That's why song 16 became 17. =/

Did you know about these alternative titles for Allister Brimble's amazing work? I think they are much better than the traditional ones, since the common names are, well, they suck. The exception is Funk Of Asphalt of course ;D
To the record, my favourite ones are Funk Of Asphalt and all the soft-almost-hard rock tracks (L'histoire avec Ali, Cosy à l'Hélico, Hyde Street Blues, et cetera)

Oh, there's also the PC soundtrack version. No related to the subject of the topic, but damn, the PC version is f*ckin' amazing, the people prefer the PSX one, and so am I. However, the PC has its own charm. (My blood boils when I'm listening to Seven Days In The Sun. Indeed, the classic feeling that Allister Brimble put into both his works is marvelous.)

You can just listen to the Driver soundtrack by putting the CD in any regular CD player. (PC version)

The weird thing is, if I listen to my copy on PC, my music player also shows the name and artist of each track.
The Main Menu music is called "Heard It in a Love Song" by "The Marshall Tucker Band".
The "New York- Day" music is appereantly "I Fall To Pieces" by Patsy Cline.
etc.

Now what do all these random country musicians I've never heard of before have to do with Driver?

they still hiding many stuff we wish they disclose them.
Yes indeed, I couldn't even find any relevant information about the tracklist, all the download links that supposedly leads to the full original soundtrack are dead ends (Megaupload links...)

I can say the same about the PC soundtrack.
Looking for them in the web (nah, I'm just gogling them xD), I just found out that there is no information at all. Hell, I had to rip off the soundtrack from my CD game to be aware of the track names.

Btw, even these track names are unknown to the mainstream scene, Youtube videos only shows "Track 1", "Track 2", "Track N".........
With that said, here they are:

1. Standing On The Edge

2. Buck Rogers

3. Piece By Piece

4. Seven Days In The Sun

5. We Can't Rewind

6. Turn

7. Choke

8. Oxygen

9. Tell All Your Friends

The songs were named after the extracted wave files gotten from the CD.
The weird thing is, if I listen to my copy on PC, my music player also shows the name and artist of each track.

The "New York- Day" music is appereantly "I Fall To Pieces" by Patsy Cline.
lol, that's weird. Maybe your media player is having trouble to correctly identify the wav files inside the CD, so he's taking any others ID tags from your library to fill that void.
These wav formats are strange anyway. They can be acessed and played through the windows explorer but I can't view them by using the Open Dialog window of any application.
