On my point, it`s totally wrong theory and to do thing. Actually, the needed car model data is hard cored into the main game files, or simply in .lev files with a supportive information from .d3d files. Thanks to Jeff (Someone972) and SOAP, we now are having the possibility at having the each model (not only cars) in readable format and exported as .3ds or .obj format as these are the default editable formats for mostly 3D editor programs such Cinema 4D, 3D Studio, AutoCad, etc.

So, please, just go to Driver`s Modifying sector and look for the newest topics about model modifying, model extraction, texture modding, etc. I`m pretty sure that you`ll be able to find something interesting at here :)

Yes, of course. Like I said, jump to Driver`s modifying category, and you will see many cars released :)

I just downloaded the demo, the graphics look okay for an old game now. I thought it was going to be really bad. I do remember the playstation Driver obviously the pc would better.
The First Driver, ok. I have the full PC version, and I think that you can mod the demo the same way you can with the full Version of the game.
