Would a checkpoint editor be worth the trouble of making?

So guys I had a slight idea. I was thinking maybe I could include a checkpoint editor for users to create their own checkpoint missions that can be shared on the forums with others. I have an idea of how I could make it work but itd be a little bit of a hassle. If people think its a good idea, then I will by all means go through with it. Tell me what you guys think!

If I were you, I'd focus on getting the game released first, then think about making editors. How do you make checkpoint races, though? Manually? :P

Is it going to be like the race creator thing in Midnight club 3? (Haven't played that game in AGES btw, might get back to it)

Honestly, I voted for “Not interested at all”. I mean, what’s this about anyway? Hasn’t this “Driver Russia” been around for ages already, but I haven’t yet seen any screenshots of it? Like CarLuver said, I’d focus on finishing the game first, and then nothing stops you from expanding the game later. You will work more efficiently this way otherwise you’ll end up with too much work. I always say: I prefer to do a single thing and do it perfect (but sometimes I also say: the best or nothing, and at other times: all or nothing), than doing 100 things and finishing none of them in the end.

So, as mentioned before, I’m “Not interested at all”. I’m more interested in seeing the game first. If I like it I might be interested in a checkpoint editor, I’ll decide later.

Pretty interested I have to say. Finishing the game first or getting closer to it would be essential on my opinion, before expanding on the game with editors. You know what they say, right? You work on too many things at once and you lose focus.

Checkpoint races would be made through an in-game editor, similar to the race editors in the old Midnight Club games.

Exactly! Off-topic but I actually managed to get it running (somewhat... laggy) in PCSX2 last week.

Just download the beta from my signature if you haven't seen or played it yet. Although there are a lot of things that need polishing and the story will be redone. But yeah, I see your point.

Yeah, I think I'll wait until I get the game done first to decide. Still wanted to throw the idea out there and get everyone's opinions. I think it could definitely add loads of replay value to the game.

That's OK. I'm sure after the game is done this should be thought about, considering the poll results.
