Because Ubisoft registered a domain for DriverSanFranciscoGame.com
New domain registrations by Ubisoft may have confirmed the titles of both the next Driver and Assassin’s Creed titles.

Discovered by superannuation, the domains point to the names Driver: San Francisco (driversanfranciscogame.com) and Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood (assassinscreedbrotherhood.com). A registration for Laser Home Battleground (laserhomebattleground.com) was also made by Ubisoft.

The next Assassin’s Creed has already been revealed to feature a full-fledged single-player campaign set in Rome, multiplayer, and a release by the end of March 2011.

Ubisoft will hold their E3 press conference on June 14. We’ll see what comes out of it.

Maybe ... or maybe not. San Fransisco would be a cool place for a new Driver game. Hills, bridges, the Cable Cars... Brings me back to Driver 1 - the good old times... :)

Wow, I wonder how they find these things... I just hope that this isn't, as you say, a pathetic instalment for mobile or hand-held consoles.
